Well after some tips on adjustment failure in this game i figured it would be worth while going and taking a look at a game that was one i have wanted in my collection for some time.

Not bad condition the playfield is Marilyn but the translite is Lola. the playfield has mylar up the middle and looks pretty decent and where it is not mylared you can start to see the grain of the wood coming through the paint.

game was not working when i bought it and once the adjust failure was fixed the game boots but looks like some of the coils are not firing. the one for the skillshot does not kick the ball out and the flippers do not work. i am also expecting the bottom display has some issue. and it is missing some plastics and some are cracked.

Most will prolly think i overpaid at 500 canadian but it was a game i really wanted to add to the collection and know i would have kicked myself if i let it slip by.

last but not least some pics, i will get some higher res ones once i start to trouble shoot and shop it out.

You got a great deal!

Taxi is a very fun game and I think it deserves all the praise it gets. That's a bonus that you have a Marilyn version, I think you can replace the translite to make it all uniform. Enjoy it!

just tinkering around with it now. looks like the sling shots and the ball lock on the left and the santa/gorbie hole up top have working coils. Not so much when it comes to the flippers and drac though

Edit: nevermind finally got the translite off. man it was stuck good. and the lift channel is starting to come off.

Love my Taxi. Nice pickup, my man.

BTW - do you have any bigger pics?

Congrats on the new pin. That's a great game that's affordable by most but for the price you paid everyone could afford one. Nice pickup!

It seems like every KLOVer who's into pins has (or wants) Taxi! Actually, I did for a while...sorta fell off my radar. I'd definitely pick one up if it was uber-cheap.

Thanks again for the youtube link on how to get the game working again. I noted that the battery did have some corrosion so i will have to remove the holder and to a remote battery holder in the near future. it also has a few fuses blown so i will make a trip into town and buy some to see if i can get it working a bit more. I am just glad it appears the cpu board will be fine though.

being another one of the younger guys here born in '80 this was one of the pins i remember vividly from my childhood playing at the hockey rink. I am pretty happy I got to add this to my collection.

I also heard back from another guy today and looks like it is going to cost me about 19k to have my house jacked up and a proper basement put it. So i can smell a dedicated game room in my future too. If i didnt have this pain in the ass cold it would be a kick ass week so far for good news and scores.

And for you Jow I snapped some bigger higher res eye candy for a fellow taxi fan.

Nice score!

I too have the Marilyn version with the Lola translight. I've haven't had any luck finding a Marilyn translite.

I am hoping that when i go to allentown this year i might be able to track down a Marilyn translite in the flea market. maybe a departures ramp too as mine appears to have been patched up.

I still am under the weather so after i grab a nap i think it will be time to grab the trusty DMM and see what kind of issues i can find. I can't wait to play my first game on this bad boy

Looks very nice, congrats. That game can be very tough depending on the way it's set up. The one at Pizza Depot is brutal.
