Just picked this up two days ago for $350, looks to be in decent shape. The guy just had a 161-1 cart in it, so I'm also looking to pick up a few carts. Just curious how I did, I'm thinking $350 was fair.

You would be correct. Plus, with the 161 in 1, you can play the games before you decide to buy the original carts. Neo Geos are fantastic. Nice pick up sir.

Nice pick up. That's what I paid for mine with 4 carts. One side is missing most of the sideart but I love it. It's the machine I play the most. Solid deal there.

What do you mean by showcase?

I'm guessing he means the cut-ins on the lower half (on V2 & V3). I personally think my V2 is the best looking one. But I would've bought any version. I think they look goofy with those speakers up top (kinda like Mickey Mouse)

*edit, he beat me to it. I always kinda thought the V2/V3s looked like a sort of showcase cab, although I would never call it that.

looks like a decent V3 "Tall boy"

Street Price with 4 decent non-$20 games is about $500
Price on that multi-cart is well over $100 so you made out fair to decently.

There are tons of restore threads if you look around to guide you if you are looking to fix or address anything about these. There's a nice CPO repro also from Anthony at QA.

Change out the buttons for the correct colors and pull the lock bars off.

Ordered the CPO and buttons already and have taken the lock bar off also. Those were the things I noticed too, not sure why the guy decided to change the button colors.

Nice pick up! I'm not a Neo purist, since it was after I stopped visiting arcades but I've come to love a few of the games on the multicart... and my kids won't stop playing it!!!

big monitor with the marques on the speaker setup instead of it being lower on the smaller neo cabs

Got it. I have only ever known them as Tall Boys. Thanks for the vocab lesson my good sir.

You did well. You have the rare "defying gravity, stuck to the wood paneled wall" horizontal version.

Not only that, it's got the rarely seen, horrible joke magnet inside the cabinet that apparently even works thru the internet.

Not quite, showcase cabs have massive 30"+ displays and controls on a pedestal. Example: http://wa1.images.onesite.com/capcom-unity.com/user/kagaden/showcase/converted/large/img_0452.jpg

That cabinet there is a Big Red.

Just to clarify, that is not a Big Red cabinet. Big Reds have completely red sides that are one piece (not viewable in the op's picture) and a different marquee design. As well as other differences.

For example.......this is what a Big Red looks like......
