So I was finally able to find a Centipede locally. Guy had it listed for $650 and said the monitor was not working or needed repair. I negotiated him down to $350 and we set a pick up day and time of last night. Took my 17 year old son with me as I hear these Atari cabs are heavy. Showed up and when when plugged the game in I saw the screen come up and it had a v-sync scroll issue. Didn't say anything as I looked at my son and we both knew how to fix as we did this on our Galaga game. I asked about the history of the game.He said his mother-in-law had the game for years and he's had it for over years. Just sat in his garage. Loaded it up...dam thing is heavy. lol Got it home around 9pm and everyone else was sleeping so we put it in the garage and did a full assessment on the cab. No keys for the back but it was held on by screws. Popped it open and made one 1/8" turn the left on the v-sync pot and bam...screen issue fixed. Son and I played the game for about and hour before we called it quits.

Here are some pics and I did noticed a few things I need to repair and address this morning. Someone cut the ground plug on the power cord. Whole cab needs a good cleaning. Side are is on fair condition but I need to figure out how to fix the peeling art on one side. Not sure if I should replace the CPO art or not. We'll see how it looks after cleaning.

Well I think I did good on this pick up.... :D

Nice pic and nice price....I don't aquire those cabs anymore even if free too heavy.

Ah, another Centipede in collector's hands. I hope you keep it.

Later, find a Milli board + braze + adapter and make it a multigame. Then you get the best of both worlds ...

I wouldn't exactly call it knock off. Its a Willis CPO, some of them are quite cool... Not sure about Centipede though.

I purchased my CPO from arcade shop and it looks real nice.

Nice pick up. If it bugs you, I've had good luck fixing that kind of peeling by simply using regular elmer's glue lightly brushed on, then roll the vinyl back down and either tape it til it dries or put something flat and heavy on til it dries.

$350 for Centipede is a great deal. Replace that control panel though as that's not original. Also the trackball and button should be off-white.

If you also like Millipede then get a Millipede board and the Braze Multipede kit to have both games. Personally I like the smaller Centipede trackball better than the slightly larger Millipede trackball.

A milipede board and the kit will run you about what you paid for the whole damn machine.

This is the CPO you want man. Out of all of the Willis CPOs this one is the coolest by far. I actually replaced my Atari CPO with this one. Looks 100% cooler.

Also as another poster said, I wouldn't really call Willis a knockoff!

Welcome to the wonderful world of Atari cabs! I've got two of those heavy bastards. Tell you what, though..... they are sturdy as shit.

Awesome. Thx for the tip. I'm going to try that this weekend.

Can I purchase just the white trackball or do I have to get the whole assembly?

That's what I've read. I think I'll just keep this an dedicated Centipede cab for now.

>classic arcade game
>good deal
>father/son bonding

I kinda have to agree. After looking at the other ones this one is way cooler. So whats the story with these Willis CPO art?

I think the Willis Centipede CPO is frickin' sweet. What's the story with Willis, you ask?

Why...read on!

Congrats on the cool get, especially with the kids. If you think that beast is heavy...go snag a Gauntlet!!
