So I was finally able to find a Centipede locally. Guy had it listed for $650 and said the monitor was not working or needed repair. I negotiated him down to $350 and we set a pick up day and time of last night. Took my 17 year old son with me as I hear these Atari cabs are heavy. Showed up and when when plugged the game in I saw the screen come up and it had a v-sync scroll issue. Didn't say anything as I looked at my son and we both knew how to fix as we did this on our Galaga game. I asked about the history of the game.He said his mother-in-law had the game for years and he's had it for over years. Just sat in his garage. Loaded it up...dam thing is heavy. lol Got it home around 9pm and everyone else was sleeping so we put it in the garage and did a full assessment on the cab. No keys for the back but it was held on by screws. Popped it open and made one 1/8" turn the left on the v-sync pot and bam...screen issue fixed. Son and I played the game for about and hour before we called it quits.
Here are some pics and I did noticed a few things I need to repair and address this morning. Someone cut the ground plug on the power cord. Whole cab needs a good cleaning. Side are is on fair condition but I need to figure out how to fix the peeling art on one side. Not sure if I should replace the CPO art or not. We'll see how it looks after cleaning.
Well I think I did good on this pick up....
