I picked up an original taito operation wolf out of a garage over the weekend. It was supposed to have a broken monitor but as a kbut the picture is actually very crisp. Game works and can be played through (I've gotten as far as level 2...)

The good:
Complete original cabinet. The bottom piece that sticks out broke off but I have it. Even had back door.

Game came right on, looks great.

Gun works, is right on target when it appears. Recoil works great.

Nice crisp monitor

The issues:
No sound. I turned the knob up by the coin door and you can hear speaker hum but no sound. One time I turned it on and it's almost like it played all the sounds the game had in a row like a test menu. Was kind of freaky because there's a lot of screaming k guess in this game..

The gun doesn't always work. At first it would shoot the top or bottom inch of the screen but I left the game on for 30 mins today and after that the gun would shoot everywhere. But it's back to missing the top or bottom inch. Also the bomb button does not work. However it does always shoot right on target right down the middle

The game starts automatically if it has a credit

Broken bezel and marquee but alreasy have replacements.

Any suggestions on the issues? I think this was a good score.

Gun problem is actually a wiring issue but clean mirror, monitor and gun lense. Sound issue is probably a main board issue. I have a board that does this also, even sounds I have never heard in a game... "you fail mission, we will never ask you again." the schematics are a bit scetchie in that particular area..main board sound. The schematics on our site, its like that part got in the fold. If the bullets don't register at certain points, first get a phone camera or similar way to look into barrel, doesn't need to be coined up, and see if light goes out when moved around. If so wiring and probably at the molex connector right inside coin door and below gun. That is also where thre is probably a jumper wire for freeplay. If you get no sounds, try the other pins on X connector. Why they never used that, I don't know. It is other speaker out.

Grenade button connects on outer edge of main pcb, make sure that is connected. It is about middle of board and on left from front drawer. If memory is correct.

I have Zifners board set I need to test in a cab. Main board was repaired and sound board works on bench but has issues in cab.

K couple notes. You were right about grenade button. Connector was loose, works now.

Seems like every time I turned it on the range I can fire up and down changes and if I leave it on for a while and warm up it gets better.

Still no sound just hum

EDIT main issue now is the credit issue. Not a huge deal it starts automatically but since the start button isn't working properly you can't continue if you die . It won't automatically do that. Thoughts?

I can't watch video yet, old phone. Try turning on dip switch 3, can't remember but think it is bank 1.
Normally if you have a stuck switch, you get I/O error. You should be able to test switches and see results on screen.

Edit.
To allow to continue dips have to be set for this.
