Not much to brag about but by far my personal best. learning the patterns really helps a lot. what do regular players generally consider a good score to be, 100, 250k? and by regular i mean not the ringers.
thanks

I'm not that great at it so if you want to see what a regular kind of amateur score is, here's a video of me playing awhile back you can fast forward to the end to see the score :)

I'd ask Billy about that question.

I'm completely obsessed and addicted to FAST Pac-Man now.

So much so, that I can't really bring myself to play the regular version any more.

I don't use patterns...I just wing it and see what happens. I suck but it's just so much fun.

FAST Pac-Man - 71,270
FAST Ms Pac-Man - 98,000

This reminds me...I need to try an break 100k this weekend.

ive heard a lot of people say the same thing that its hard to go back to the normal speed. I also notice that people that love pacman usually like ms. pacman, but people who love ms. pacman sometimes hate pacman and I'm guessing its because of the speed.

thanks

Nice to see people still working to be good at pacman. I broke a million way back in the 80s when I was a kid. Had one of those books with the patterns.

I got hooked on speed up for a while but it's just too easy. Just play mspac on slow occasionally these days.

My best is 110000 and let me tell you that was just a one time thing because I have not been close to that agin in a long while!

That's BIG TIME!!!!
You must have had a lot of followers in the local arcade or 7-11.
Thanks

A good game for me is around 100k, usually ending somewhere in the first few key boards. I've haven't taken the time to learn the next pattern needed go further.

I've been trying to get the 'perfect' patterns to work lately, but my timing isn't precise enough (yet).

If I remember correctly you can get through the first 5 Key levels using the third pattern?
Thanks

Love the idea with the overlays, will have to try that out.

yea for the first two patterns i was all good but with the third it had enough twists, turns, and stop n go's that i figured if i was really going to learn it properly the ink pen was the only way to go.
Thanks

I still have the one Mastering Pac-Man book. I forget the author's name, but I know he's dead now. I never had consistent enough access to the game to learn all those patterns.

You'd think that I would prefer the "speed up" versions, since I like Super Pac-Man(has Super Speed button)... but no, I prefer the original versions better.

I don't think I've ever cracked 100k, but I really do want to get an original Pac-Man machine, just to see how long it would take me.

I usually end up in the 60-70k range, which blows peoples minds up at the Re:Gen store(the only local place I know with an original Pac-Man).

Super Pac, I do much better at, but I've got patterns for the first 3 boards that will easily crack 30k(sometimes, I can manage it by the end of board 2).

I really need to start playing that more... I know I'll never hit the world record, but I should strive for 400k by the end of this year, since I've broken the 300k mark.

I used to drive my dad nuts on trips to Chucky Cheese. I would always use my last token on Pac Man and have everyone waiting on me.

Once you get the patterns down it's really not hard. They kind of ruin the game. In the 80s great pac players were a dime a dozen.

This is kinda why I don't want to learn patterns. I like the challenge of my own maze randomness. Knowing patterns is probably the only way to rack up super high scores but I'm honestly worried it will ruin the game for me. LOL

You can play all day long without patterns. Just knowing how the ghosts act/react, when they go back to their beginning boxes, and where to "hide". But that way is boring to me.
