Just wondering how much it cost to buy a new PCB ...BITD ?

Did popular titles like Ms Pac or DK cost more...or were the prices about the same ?

Anyone ever find any recently still NIB ?....if so what game ?

Which PCB would you most desire to own / find NIB ?

.

i have an original Punch-Out!! replacement parts price book. It's pretty cool to see how much every little replacement piece originally cost.

Anyway, back to the topic. A replacement 3 board set was $995.00.

I would guess they all ran somewhere between 500 and a grand. You hear about NOS pcbs occasionally but not too often. Considering what they cost the ops, its not something they let sit on a shelf to collect dust.
I have never heard of or seen a NOS pac board and doubt there are any around. My DK Jr board was like new. I got it from a warehouse and it was in an original VS box. Im guessing it was pulled and converted early in its life since the pcb looked absolutly brand new.

I picked up a Mickey's Magical Tetris still NIB off EBay for $30...Don't know what it cost new since it was not supposed to be released here in the US.

I'm surprised the PCB's were so expensive....but as Mylstar said it didn't take that long to get your money back on a game, so all in all a good investment I guess.

Going on the amount of NIB games that have popped up over the last few years, you would think that NIB PCB's would be a lot more common than they are....dosen't make sense to me.

I'm sure that there might be a warehouse somewhere that has a few pallets of these things hidden away waiting to be discovered.

Actually, it wouldn't surprise me if an awful lot of these have been discarded by people that have thought that they are just old electronics parts....so who would want them ?

Not all kits made money, at least not for me. I spent $1395 on a Time Killers kit.
It did very bad for me. Maybe $20 - $30 /week. I traded it back in to my distributor 4 weeks later for $800. :-(

Then there was the time I spent $4295 on a dedicated Mortal Kombat II. Had it for a 18 months before I sold it and I still "owed" $600 on my books. Thats when I decided to get out of operating.

Aaaha....yeah, i understand that every game didn't make a profit .

Do you (or anyone else ) remember what the best return was that you ever got on a game ..cost v takings ?

If you guys think it was hard then, try now. We paid $4000 for Tekken 6 and $8000 for the upgrade to it, Tekken 6 Bloodline Rebellion...I think after a year and a half it's recovered about $10000 of that.

Street FIghter IV new kits were $15,000. I think back in the days the kits were a lot more reasonable based on the amount of play they received. New boards now are NORMALLY $2500-3500 for fighting games...

That's just insane, considering that SF4 and most other games are running on streamlined computers.. No wonder the arcade industry died. Some Taito-X2 system game was cracked the other day, and can now be ran on any PC.

It's simply greed from the companies. I've heard that in Japan, arcades are starting to fail now.

My best ROI was my Gauntlet I bough NIB and the 3 Neo Geo 4 slots I bought when SNK had their $500 down, 10 payments of $250 no interest deal. Back then, that was the most I spent in 1 month on games...just shy of $10k.

Did these games do well on route or did it take a long time to get your 10k back???

Gauntlet cost me $2895 and I had it 6 months then upgraded ($795) to Gauntlet II.
In the 18 months I had the machine, my take was almost $16,000.
Remember, I was 15 when I bought. Still in high school. I got a break and was able to put it in the local arcade so it made lots and lots of money.

My Neo's were steady earners and operated them for a couple of year before I sold them.

Wow it makes you wonder what arcades were making a month back in the 80s

$$$$$$$$$ $$$$$$$$$$ :)

I know guys who would have to empty their Pac-Man coin buckets.....A COUPLE TIMES A DAY!

FYI...that bucket holds approximately $400 before jamming up the coin mechs. Ms. Pac-Man will hold almost double.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Simpsons, and the SF II CE made great money BITD on the route I worked. The Turtles and Simpsons were taking in over 1000.00 per week each consistently for many months. We had several locations like that. Of course there was the 50/50 split with the location.
