New paper arcade models

Noted with respect.

Does anyone else think i should do a seperate thread for wooden models ?

No. I think keeping in the same thread is fine given that they're being built using the paper models as an example.

If anything, perhaps retitling the thread "Miniature Arcade Models (Paper, Wood, etc)" might be more appropriate.

Regardless, there's been very little action in the paper front.

i wish i could find what i need to make a few more or maybe some other people would post some cabinets. i miss when we could all have new ones to build instead of just getting to see what someone else did.

There are now 45 + designs on my site, with many more to come. Also, after being asked by so many customer i am currently working on pinball table models to the same scale at my arcade models ;-)

Has anyone heard from Retro-heart lately? I placed an order for several models, which he was going to send out about 3 weeks ago. Since then, I've heard nothing and pm's are unanswered. Hope everything is OK.

E Mailed you buddy. For some odd reason my pm notifications havnt been coming thru to my e mails, and i didnt realise you sent me that pm last week.

This seemed like the appropriate thread to show off this promo item that showed up at my desk today for LittleBigPlanet 2

Does anyone know retro-heart or have ordered from him and received their order? I ordered 10 models from him in mid-Sept. End of October I emailed for the status (pm's here went unanswered), he said it was shipped Oct. 22. Just before Thanksgiving I emailed again for an update, and he said it was sent about a week earlier and sent a tracking number that could not be tracked by me. Christmas came and went (so much for the 2 models that were gonna be gifts!) and I emailed again; no response almost 2 weeks later.

I think he's legit but I *really* want to get my order at this point! Any suggestions? I'm using the email form his blogspot website. Thx.

I will pass on the message to him for you, hes been swamped with orders at the moment as i have, ive actually closed my site to catch up with orders, hes also been very ill too, but im sure he wont use that as an excuse...

Thanks! Hope everything is OK. Was kind of expecting delivery by now (order placed in Sept.) and I can't track anything from my end.

All sorted with Steve now. We had a shipping issue, but I am recitifying it now.

I have been working on new pinball table models if anyone wishes to see them ?

This was done using a template i made myself, and really just to see if it would work, and it works quite well - next step will be to make the inside of it too :)

I don't want to go off point and I'm apologizing in advance, but is there a tutorial for making these models out of balsa wood. Keeping the same paper models but using balsa wood as the base structure?
Thanks and sorry for going off point.

no, just use the templates and use glue instead of sticky tape

Not QUITE that simple, but close. Take the template, cut it out (cutting each panel into a separate piece), and glue onto balsa wood. Then cut the wood to the shape of the panel. Now you just have to assemble with glue. If you REALLY want it to look good, trip the edges back where things meet to 45 degrees - that way you won't have any exposed balsa at the corners.

Basically, take the simplest one you can find and try it. You'll have to make adjustments as you go, but it won't be too hard.
