New Nintendo console. better than ps3 & 360..?

Who knows what will happen? Nobody knows what the future holds. I just know it's always changing, and even though I enjoy the nice HD graphics, I still love the old NES and similar consoles. Think about this, when you first played the PS (tekken), or the DC (Soul Calibur), or the xbox (Halo), you were probably like, man these graphics are amazing, it can't get much better then this. But 5 or 6 years later the PS3 and 360 comes out and the graphics are alot better then you ever imagined. We've been thinking we've reached the limit of graphics 10 years ago, but something new comes out that blows you away.

The only blemish theyhad was the 32x the genesis was great and sold well and the saturn did poory because of the 32x but in japan it did great it was superior to the playstation ever play marvel vs capcom on the ps? No tag. Not enough memory.

Sent from my android phone

The SMS was HUGE in Europe and South America.... I still think the Genesis was one of the best systems ever! I have to admit, I really didn't care for the 32X besides the Star Wars game....

I know for awhile I contemplated on getting a Saturn. I'm pretty sure when I was going to get one is when I heard there was a new Sega console coming out(Dreamcast)... I'm pretty sure this pissed a lot of owners of the Saturn, basically abandoning it, early in it's life.....

at what point will it stop? (i dont mean this in the sense, "yay another console") I seriously wonder. it obviously has to some where no? are we gonna see a repeat of virtual reality but better? I mean shit with the kinect and all this motion we are almost there. The graphics on crysis 2 on the xbox are AMAZING, best I have seen, ps3 has games with amazing graphics as well.. but where will it stop? theres only so many polygons/pixels...

I reckon there's at least one more iteration of the major consoles to come before hardware update cycles really slow down. The current generation consoles don't quite cut it for HD gaming, most games render at a lower 720 line resolution and upscale. The 360 has mediocre anti-aliasing and the PS3 is completely crap at anti-aliasing. The next iteration of consoles should have the capacity to be 'true' HD consoles, and encourage all games to run at full 60FPS 1080P anti-aliased, and in 3D.

Still, the fact that the 360 is approaching 6 years old, the PS3 is nearing 5 and both are still upping the ante and churning out quality games is quite remarkable.

Dude the PS9 is way more awesome! I am just going to wait for it: ;)

You are right, I never thought Nintendo would make a console as crappy as the Wii. Such a letdown.

I loved the Wii. As a matter of fact - the Wii was such a huge hit and introduced a new way of interacting with the game that Microsoft and Sony both had to play catch-up.

Depends on what kind of gaming experience you were looking for.

I like joysticks buttons and d-pads. I don't like waving tv remotes in the air. Also the ratio of good games to crapware on the Wii is like 1/10000! Just so much crap. What are good games for the Wii?

Tatsunoko Vs Capcom:
Looked awesome, once I got it I found the control to simplistic. Boring!

New Super Mario Bros. Wii:
Dull, the DS version is much more fun!

Metroid: The Other M:
What a disappointment!

Zelda the Twilight Princess:
The GameCube version plays better

Super Mario Kart Wii:
They took away 2 player cooperative! WTF?! My wife would play 2 player co-op Double Dash all the time! Double Dash is better.

Smash Bros:
Same stuff as before, nothing too exciting.

Opinons, everyone has one. Mine? I disagree with everything you just said, though the first game you listed I don't care one bit for...but for much different reasons(I think today's fighting games BLOW).

My favorite series is the Metroid series and I thought Other M was really good, for something that went off in a different direction.
Twilight Princess sucked on both platforms, it's a poor Zelda game that was poorly executed.

There's Metroid Prime 3, Conduit 1 and 2 are pretty good. DKC Returns is frickin awesome and improves on the original games, Kirby's Epic Yarn is very fun.
There are many more games that are fun, they just don't have guns and boobies in 720P+...something most people can't seem to do without these days, or a game sucks. They must be the same people who think Hentai tentacle porn is awesome...

I hope Nintendo brings something out with horsepower that blows the others offerings away, they need to realize they need to capture ALL of the market not just the casual gamer and the everything gamer, they need to win the so called hardcore(See; Hentai tentacle porn lovers) crowd over. They don't need to worry about those of us that were around in the days of the NES...we are not part of that guns and boobies obessed crowd.

Boy you got me pegged wrong. I am not your FPS fan. I am a huge Metroid fan, but my faves are Metroid, Super Metroid, and Metroid Zero Mission. The new stuff I find lacking. If it isn't made by R&D1 I don't care for them.

As for Mario games, l loved SMB1, SMB2, SMB3, SMW, Yoshi's Island, Mario 64, and New Super Mario Bros.

I could go on, but it comes down to Nintendo games being the same stuff rehashed and resold five times over, even the Wii is pretty much just a Gamecube with different controllers and more memory. I am just sick of Nintendo doing that to me.

I didn't mean "you", I meant primarily this generations gamers...this generations older kids.
Just pointing out the contrast even between us, like I said I pretty much disagree with everything in your post...but that's your opinion.

I do agree with the hardware being a gimped update with new controllers. They wanted to bring that stuff to the Gamecube though, but it sold too poorly to justify it, they stated that themselves at the E3 before they unveiled the Wii.
I think that may be why their next machine, will be a powerhouse and not a "Wii 2". If it's a "Wii 2", I hope they crash and burn...cause they'd deserve it.

Wait? How old do you think I am? I am confused? I will be 36 in June.

Again...wasn't direct at "You". FFS...

OK so I reread that last paragraph and see what you meant. You see the main problem isn't the gamers here in the USA, it is the current generation of Japanese game players and the current generation of programmers in Japan. They just don't get that simpler is better and unique is better than complex rehashes of the same crap. Most of R&D1 is gone, replaced with a new generation of programmers, Gunpei Yokoi is dead, Miyamoto just supervises and Iwata wreaks everything and tries extract as much profit as possible ad the expense of the company's future.

I don't know, they've always innovated...I think they purposely went off the beaten path because it would sell well, but be "different".
Then when they come back mainstream swinging the big stick with a heavy hitter system the "Wow Factor" would be x10.

That is...if they realize that's where they need to head, like most of their consumers know they should. Guess we'll have to wait for E3 to see, but if they pull a "Wii 2", I expect them to tank completely in the home console sector this time around. The Wii was neat and brought some fun aspects that weren't there before, but to go even further off track or rehash it, is to resign themselves to death.

My opinion is that anything Nintendo sells will likely sell well. They can make a powerhouse of a system next, but I feel that it will be their online multiplayer/community support that will make or break the system. After the "Wi-Fi Connection" friend code bullshit of the Wii and DS, I think they'll lose a lot a long time fans if they don't have some kind of online system that rivals Live and PSN.

Granted, it will likely be the worst of the three, but it may be enough if they just make something that perhaps links to your club nintendo account so that we can at least do away with those damn friend codes and support "always online" stuff, that may be enough.

Huge Wii fan. Waited 4 hours to get one the day it came out and still play it. Passed couple years I have all my games on an external HDD. I can't imagine using CDs again.

Marvel vs. Capcom is a great game, especially with the matching fightstick. I'm glad it's Wii only. I haven't been into a fighting game since SFII for the snes, though.

I think it's too early for a new console! I doubt I will get it unless somebody homebrews it first.

As someone already stated, I also prefer buttons and joysticks. I don't want to pretend I'm swinging a sword, I want to hit a button. Wagglemotion sucks. I hated the wii. I hacked it and even with downloadable games it wasn't worth my time and interest. Sold it a couple of years ago to buy a camera. Even the shitty camera I got was a better investment.

Twilight Princess didn't suck, it was awesome - on the Gamecube.

I applaud Nintendo for creating a 'revolutionary' (lulz) control schtick that somehow got non-gamers to take notice. As far as the bottom line goes, good for Nintendo, they're in the black. But as far as "DUDE LETS PLAY NINTENDO!" from my youth, those days are gone. The last great Nintendo console was the SNES. The N64 was a joke with 3 or 5 good games (all first party of course) and the Gamecube was serviceable with a few good games. I'm sure the Wii2 will have some sort of ridiculous control scheme like the Wii, so I'm probably just going to skip it.

Nintendo also needs to stop focusing on ridiculous controllers and control schemes and work on their online model, as well as building a console that can actually handle HD. The gamecube was behind the times because they refused to support the 480p capabilities in it, insofar as to even stop selling the component cables for it. Then with the Wii, they ignored the HD market (sorry Nintendo, but HD IS popular) as well as the online market, they figured 'no one needed it'. Oh, but we need a 1958 style remote "clicker" to make Mario jump on the 10 billionth Goomba? I'm assuming this new console will have SOME sort of ridiculous limitation, but the fact that it can give you a BJ while playing Super Mario 400 will make it sell like hotcakes.

I'd love to be wrong and eat my words, but I don't think it will happen.

I agree for the most part, but there were plenty of good and excellent games for th N64, I just took a look at the full list and picked out the ones I think are good:

That is 31 titles, and I am sure I missed a few, and I was being very selective. Blast Corps is a good game, but I didn't include it. Also I didn't include ports of arcade and PC games etc.

WHUT? Cruis'n USA? Ah, you did include an arcade port, and a horrible one at that.
I tried Perfect Dark but the framerate was so bad I couldn't even play it. There's a few good games there, but overall the N64 was not a good system, with a limited amount of excellent games. Probably the worst nintendo console, not including portable systems. Out of about 30 games you listed there probably 25 of them are either sequels, remakes or rehashed.
