New Neo Geo Pocket?

That's a horrible photoshop, but yeah that would be mad awesome. And I'd kill for an eShop to re-buy all the old NG Pocket games that were so damn awesome.

Anyone else here have a NGPC? At the time, it was amazing in terms of fighting games. Still is, in my opinion.

For those so inclined, here's the thread about this over at the NG forums.

I have one in Camo Blue with Metal Slug and Bust-A-Move. Very cool when it first came out.

I have way too much for that damn thing to even recall. While I love Metal Slug (probably my fav series on the NG), I didn't care much for the NGPC games. It lost some of its arcade appeal bringing it to a console (without being a port). Still not bad, though, but I never finished either of them.

Man, I need to dig out my collection now...I already had a pretty good collection but I always wanted my games in the snapcases that other regions got. A few years ago someone on the NG forums was selling a lot of all the good games in snapcases plus a couple of systems (one color, one not), so I picked all that up. That means I have some dupe carts now, I think, but I kept them for the rare chance that someone comes over and wants to get some SNK vs CAPCOM on :)

I can't remember if I ever got one of the slim systems or not. I think I might have, but it ended up going in storage almost right away. My primary system is a clear one with blue power LED and front light mod done by our good friend Xian Xi. I've attached a few pics for those interested in that.

NGPC fo' life!

Sounds like a bad idea to me.

So it's basically just an emulator, but why did they go with a widescreen display when all the games were full frame?

I picked up a carbon fiber NGPC while I was in Japan. I also picked up one of the pocket fighter games. I don't remember which one.

I love the joystick on it. If I could get those I would want to use them for handheld controllers. Are they similar to the AES controller joysticks?

If I remember correctly, they're basically mini switches, so they're probably pretty close.

Sigh - I've looked and looked and cannot find my NGPC collection :(

I'm pretty sure I saw it one of the last times I was over at my parents' place, but when I stopped by last night, it was nowhere to be found. I'm very disappointed!

I remember playing a lot of SNK vs Capcom on the Pocket Color, both the fighting game and card game.. probably the only 2 games I ever had for it (might have had Metal Slug as well). I most likely ebayed all of that stuff a long time ago though

I have the slim version and the regular NGPC. The slim has a louder speaker for sure and I think the screen is more reflective/clearer. I have 2 copies of Capcom vs. SNK and a link cable for some 2-player matches! It's cool playing Pac-Man on this thing too!

I know I took a chance on an auction once that had a slim in the picture, but I'm pretty sure that once I got it, it was the regular NGPC of the same color. I believe I left the guy neutral feedback since it didn't match the pic, but it was still a good price for the regular system and I wanted a backup anyway. Edit: wow, NGPC system prices have gone up a LOT on ebay since the last time I looked. I remember when $30 or more was a bit much to pay when you could usually find a good used one with an adapter for around $20 or $25. Damn.

I'm pretty sure I did end up with a Slim later on, but I don't think I ever actually played anything on it since the front lit system was obviously the way to go by that point.

Stopped by my parents' again tonight to drop something off and spent about an hour digging through old boxes hoping to find my NGPC stuff. I did find all my loose carts, but didn't find a system or any of the snap cases :(

Again, for anyone interested, here's most of my games. I can think of at least a handful that are missing - Samurai Shodown (the first one which was on the NGP, not the color), and Metal Slug 1st Mission, Pocket Tennis, and Neo Geo Cup '98. Also, all my duplicates are...I assume in the snap cases I cannot find.

Since the pic kinda sucks, that's Baseball Stars, Bust-A-Move Pocket, SNK vs. Capcom: Card Fighter's Clash - SNK Version, SNK vs. Capcom: Card Fighter's Clash - Capcom Version, FASELEI!, Fatal Fury: First Contact, Gals' Fighters, King of Fighters R-1, King of Fighters R-2, Last Blade, SNK vs. Capcom: Match of the Millennium, Metal Slug 2nd Mission, Pac-Man, Picture Puzzle, Puzzle Link 2, Rockman: Battle & Fighters, Samurai Shodown! 2, Shanghai Mini, Super Real Mahjong Premium Collection, Sonic the Hedgehog Pocket Adventure, and a flash cart that currently has a translated version of SNK vs Capcom Card Fighters Clash 2: Expand Edition.

And before anyone asks, yes the flash cart cost a pretty penny, no it's not for sale, yes Rockman also set me back a bit especially since I got it CIB, and no I've never made it far enough in Super Real Mahjong to see any boobs :(
