While I'm in a hospital bed bored to tears I started a design concept for a Multicade upright cpo design to fit on the most popular panel used (mspac galaga)

Do you guys want me to release one with the trackball die cut and one without like arcade shop does?

I have a concept in design. But before I turn it over to my artist to put my design into reality I we'll one suggestions that you have to offer. Not saying I'll incorporate them but I will consider them.

I didn't ask for feedback on my multi williams designs which are still in demand and my classicade cocktail art which I sell plenty of. But I'm wanting your suggestions on this.

Next up would be Marquees but let's focus on the cpo first.

Please post any suggestions you may have.

Thank you

Darin, hope you get better fast!
Yes, please do make a trackball and non-trackball version.

Couple of suggestions:
-If possible, can you space the holes so either version could be used on a stock panel?
-Also, any chance you can offer more than 1 color scheme for the 3 main cabs (Pac, Ms. Pac, and Galaga), or maybe something that looks good on all three? The blue arcadeshop overlay looks pretty bad on a yellow PacMan cabinet.
-Are you going to do the wrapped style like Burgertime & Galaga?
-If there is any chance that you could make a version that is spaced properly for a spinner, even if you make the trackball version without the trackball hole cut out so the buyer could choose a spinner or a trackball (or both??). :D

I want to try and get a CP with a spinner made up eventually... I am an Arkanoid Freak!!!

Speedy recovery to you!!!!

As far as the panel... I like the idea of two options as well... with or without the trackball.

Also as far as "artwork" this is not my forte but personally I'm not a huge fan of all of the character art or the words "MULIT-whatever" plastered all over. Simple color schemes that invoke a classic feel is ideal in my opinion...

Whatever you do I'm sure will look great!

Try not to get too bored... and excessive KLOV'ing can be detrimental to your heath ;)

Trackball with and without for sure..this is the goofy one John printed for me. It actually looks pretty decent on my Pac cab.

I have the .ai if ya want it

Ok, you relly should make one with and with outthe trackball. Then you chould make one that has no hole cuts that can be used on any generic control panel. The dynamo cabinet control panels are kinda big and the art work just wraps around them. So I think you need 3 styles with the last one that would work like wallpaper. Blue Flames looks sweet and please make sure any game on the art is from one of the actual games on the 60-1. No pictures of QBERT for god sakes....

Keep them coming guys. Im taking notes and wil post answers to your questions later since additional questions by others may need me to modify my answer.

Ill say for sure on the trackball and non trackball cpos.

I probably could offer up one with an empty space for a roller as I do on the tempezt-major havoc conversion art.

I will need to look at a way to incorporate additional background colors if that's what people want. I couldn't feasibly.run a trackball and non trackball version in 3 different colors for a total of 6 cpo runs since im screen printing these.

I don't need to flood the cpo with the multicade name. But I gotta put character images and color on there.with the request for multi colored backgrounds this is test me. Im up for it.

I didn't know arcade shops buttons weren't spaced as the original panel wa? Is that due to needed
space for a trackball?

A full wrap should be done too. You guys are killing me!

I also agree about keeping a clean look. Here is one I had done for myself that I think you can change up a bit, but still keep a clean original look. You can maybe add different characters under on the fold over without having it look to busy.

I have been making multicades for 14 years. I made them back when they were 3 n 1. I think you know what you need to do. KISS (Keep it simple) I do not see how you can go wrong with Midway cabinet style CPO's with and w/out trackballs. Then a wallpaper style as well. Then have a nice marquee that says Multicade or Monstercade. But you will be hard pressed to sell just the CPO overlay with no marquee as those two need to match in order to make the game look decent. A great CPO overlay is no good if your marquee looks like SH#t.

Sorry but when I try to enlarge your picture its too grainy. Can you resize it or email it to me?
Thanks

Multicade art design

Definatly a retrofit for Ms Pac/Galaga/Pac cab so it matches with original art. A copy of the Class of 81 look but with all 3 games with trackball. Would you be getting metal panels punched or just design to fit the existing style. It sucks seeing games on the cab that don't belong. I know a lot of people like having Ms Pac cabs or Galaga cabs. Perhaps 2 design styles, 2 for a dedicated looking game (Ms. Pac, Galaga) and 1 for a multicade art set. Also how about a kick art with the split screen similar to Class of 81 but not exact. Ie Ghosts and Ships in different spots to ensure your not 100% copied.

My next cab may have a Class of 81 Marquee, left side Ms Pac, right side Galaga, custom bezel with Ms Pac 1 side/Galaga other, custom kick and I need art to match with the trackball.

hope they got u on soemthing good for pain!!! take care!

Great kid.pic for your avatar.

I had a post surgical complication. My titanium cage busted and it was painful as can be. Immediately I went from a morphine drip to a dilaudid drip. Went from vicodin 10-325 to oxycontin 40's. Went from prednisone to decadron 20's. The decadron really screwed up my kidney and put me on insulin today. Since thee meds are doing really well im getting weened off decadron right now and back to prednisone tomorrow night.

Thursday morning im getting the cage replaced and ill be good to go. Thanks for thinking aboutme brother.

Id like to stay away from art that is too similar to an original mspacgalagapac. Don't waanna fight with nam o. Forgive me as im not on top of my game with these drugs. Couldn't you use a namci style cpo for what you want?

This is still my favorite for Pacman:

I do like the stealth mode better though. I used the same idea for my Williams Multi in a Joust cabinet.

Ironically, both were done by the same artist.

Good feedback. Thank you.

The marquee Ive already designed but haven't had it vectored yet. Will read as multicade but could change if I get a great suggestion from someone. Many but not all people buy Marquees with their cpos but I will release the Marquees right after them. Then do the side and maybe a bezel if enough people show interest.

I could offer new metal panels but if I can lay out the cpos correctly they wont be needed. Plus space is always an issue with regards to inventory. 200 panels takes up a lot of space.

Bump for the early birds. Only gonna take suggestions for a few more days because my artist set aside time this weekend to begin converting concept to actual. He is the artist who.helped me with multi williams and insisted on the flames which were controversial for some but very wellliked by most.

I really am listening

Phet, the Pacman CP is awesome!!
Any way there is a source for more of those? (Darin, this is nice!)
I got tickled at your "stealth" Joust with that generic bezel, where is a Joust Bezel for that poor machine???

Which leads me to another comment Darin.
The multiWilliams CPO that you made is nice in that it integrates some of the original theme with new. Notice how the left side still matches up with the Joust bezel. I know some find it busy, but I like it a lot.
