New Multi-Cocktail Games

obviously not you or me or anyone on these forums. But ive seen these (not exactly these ones) 60-1 cocktails at pizza joints and little mom and pop stores in my area. 50 cents to play, even has a dollar acceptor on the front of it.. they are the ones that pay for it cause they dont know any better

Their spamming Craigslist all over the country with that ad. I think their based somewhere in California.

Fixed it for you.

I hate people who belittle a price because they have the knowledge and skill set to make it cheaper. If anyone thinks they're only worth $300-500, then start making them (cocktails) in that condition and selling them for that price....

I'll say it before anyone else does (this time around): the joysticks on those things drive me nuts.

I could easily see a brand new cocktail needing to go over $1000 to be profitable, even if it only has a $60 board and a $120 monitor.

The problem is that 99 percent of the people selling this shit are selling exactly that, shit. Cheapest 8-way joystick they can find with two buttons, ignoring the fact that the board design itself is defective as it mixes control types freely. Freely choosing to save 10 dollars on the joystick and bump the game count to the full 60 and have 2/3rds of it be unplayable than just to put on a proper 4-way and turn off the games it can't control and ship a god damn decent bootleg product.

I don't respect one of these for sale until I see either a 4-way, 8-way and trackball side by side on the panel, or a game number lower than 60. Anything less than that and you are shipping garbage.

You mean like the upright Ms Pac with full new art package (even sideart) I saw recently at a customer's house that only had the 5 pac-man titles turned on because they didn't want to add a couple buttons? Apparently it was never mentioned to the buyer that there were 55 other games they could play. The buyer had me add two buttons once I showed them they could also play Galaga, Donkey Kong, etc...

Yeah, craptons of that ad all over Dallas craigslist....they really should IP-ban wherever those ads are coming from.

See, I almost never see that. Instead a see leftover 8-way joystick installed and a picture of Pac-Man on the screen and a copy and paste of the full 60 game list, even though most of the titles people want to play are uncontrollable with that stick.

I probably wouldn't make one like you described below with no buttons, but I really don't see the machine theoretically having unmentioned capabilities that are turned off because the proper controls aren't installed as really being in the same class of making people think they can actually PLAY Pac-Man and Donkey Kong (the games they bought the think for) when they can't.
