New Moon Patrol High Score to beat at the Outer Limits

Much like Fritz's thick fingers to a cub scout's bare knee, my upcoming party is inching closer and closer. I thought I'd better start practicing a little on some of my games so that I can have a few high scores up on the board for my guests to try and beat. Haven't messed with my Moon Patrol since my pathetic 14,400 point outing about a month ago. With kids nipping at your heels, it's hard to focus. Well this week, I doubled my score and finally got to the rolling boulders without using continues. Final score: 28, 800. I hope Sav doesn't try to make fun of me again. That always hurts.

Keep it up phet!

Wait until the boulders on the champion course that and the mines are the terrain issues people I think get into problems with on the 2nd loop till they figure it out and once that occurs the sky is the limit. Your MP looks awesome in the pics and very apprepo for the decor.

I also got a new pb about a month ago so I've been putting it in my play rotation. It's a great game with great replay value due to the spaceship variance.

Yeah, see, I know guys like you and Mitchell and Wiebe, etc are elite and talk about scores in the millions and what not, but for me, it's about improving and playing against myself. If I could only brag and talk when I beat some world record after 20 years of trying, playing these things would be no fun for me. I like to create a micro-universe, then try to be the best in that universe. Having to play against guys like you in my arcade would be like having gym class with porn stars. Sure I'd like to stand up straight and dance around, but I'd feel better if I just kept my eyes on the floor and my towel around my waist.

I think my MP score is around 68K. I can usually get to the Championship course and mess up sometime around those plants that pop up and down. I really need to get mine back out of storage.

To me, the restorations you do are tons more impressive than any score I can get on that thing. Out of this world incredible IMHO. I'm totally lost in that world but respect the hell out of it. Just amazing. If I can get something working again it's a great achievement for me...I got my Zoo Keeper working again by cleaning and reseating some chips, it was the highlight of my year. :)

And FWIW....scores/tournaments are grueling and rough sometimes so I much more enjoy just hanging out with friends like on Friday's at Richie's or at Funspot.

Case in point:

Sick set up. Just sick.

I now have to urge to play MP tonight and would like to subscribe to your newsletter.

This forum is my newsletter. Actually, these pics make me wanna play too. It's kinda fun sitting there playing MP, surrounded by planets and deep space. If the Starship Enterprise had a game room, I'd like to think it would look a bit like this:

Your excuses for sucking at games saddens me. Oh well, at least you know how to roll paint and stick decals on wood.

Sav says it, so Im just echoing his sentiments.

Sav is just an angry young fellow. It seems like he only actively participates in off-topic shit storm threads. Hard to believe he actually collects or even likes arcade games. Every post of his in the arcade forum is either him cutting someone down or him using another one of his old man cliches.

Okay, that pic of the Moon Patrol just convinced me I need to make another trek over for your annual get together. Count me in for the upcoming party. I will also post in the official thread in the next day or two.

Jim

Glad you're going Jim! You still hold the MP record in The Lost Highway Arcade.....

Whoa, Jim you're gonna drive out again? Sweet. You need to contact Killerkades about carpooling. He's down in Jackson and promised to come this time. Whattaya say Big Kev?
