New Monitor Suppliers In California..anybody deal with them

Came across this auction and inquired about what they have...apparently they are one of the lone remaining US suppliers of the CRT...and even still supply some of the older tubes/Yokes according the guy who called me on the phone.....anybody out there know the quality of their products or able to vouch for them before I purchase...I included a link to auction ....

I've heard nothing but bad things about these guys. Biggest gripes are crappy packing and unresponsiveness to issues though I seem to remember someone getting a monitor that was advertised as being compatible with a certain game and it wasn't... but that memory is a little foggy.

Your link isn't working..Did you find a post about these guys...I didn't when I checked really quick..but may have missed it..

Just do a search for FUNLCD there are several thread. Here is one: http://forums.arcade-museum.com/showthread.php?t=155399&highlight=funlcd

I recently bought a 19" CGA monitor from Genoa (Atlas Amusements) on ebay. The monitor looks great, but the cheap Chinese chassis won't sync with Williams video signals. Williams is a little off timing and it puts the image to the left of center. No matter how much horizontal adjustment/horizontal hold I tried, I couldn't get it to lock in. It did work with the JROK card so I pulled the monitor in my JROK multi-Williams for the Joust and put the Genoa into the MW cabinet.

Be aware the metal frame is non standard as well. It does not have the normal outside mounting flanges on the bottom. It has inside mounting holes that do not line up with the normal 19" video game mounting homes. I ended up using some drywall screws (operators little helpers) to secure it to the monitor shelf.

Also their packing left a little to be desired. It was packed in a cardboard box face down on a thin sheet of bubble wrap, then that box was inside another box with those blowup packing bubbles between the two boxes. The bubbles on the bottom were popped and about half of the one on the sides were popped also. That being said, it did arrive in one piece.

I bought one of their 25" from craigslist about 2 years ago. It has never worked right. It has a spot on it in one of the corners, that no amount of degaussing will remove. It also will not quite sync with any board. I constantly have to adjust the H stab to keep the wiggle out of the picture.

Total POS
