A new version of KLOV went up tonight (a couple of weeks early). We were not expecting to put it up tonight but a problem on the old system encouraged us to do so now. There are a number of rough spots we'll be working through over the next couple of days.
It's PHP and database driven. It's faster and more stable. It's easier to use and allows us to expand in the future.
Improvements Include:
1) Blinding fast searches
2) Browse by Manufacturer (from Main Menu)
3) When in the Alphabetical Game Indexes, you can now click on any column to sort by that column (manufacturer, date)
4) When looking at a individual game listing (ie: Galaga), you can click on the manufacturer (ie: Namco) and see a list of all the games by that manufacturer (again you can click on different columns to sort).
5) We found 145 orphan records that were never online. Most have very little data (ie: only a screen shot) and many of these might be deleted or merged with another record. A couple interesting things did come up though (2 player Computer Space Photo, etc. etc. )
Again this is a work in progress.
Next up: A new submission system that organizes info and photos much better and makes it much easier for us to get new goodies online.
