New Issue, WGK7K

That makes sense. I'll head to fry's today and buy some 3.1s. The book calls for 5.6, but, I didn't look at the alternative parts list (which usually has the 25" stuff)

that value could vary depending on size or model or something. Either way, make sure whatever you buy is 3.1 ohms or 5.6 ohms, NOT 5.6k!!!! :D

what did the resistor you pulled out of there ohm out at? If its within spec you can save yourself a trip and we need to keep digging.

You might want to pickup some lower ohm resistors ( 2, 3, 5, 8, 10) because if this is your issue, you may need to fine tune..

I was going to pick up a variety. I can't remember the old one's test. The original is 1/2 Watt...Think 1 Watt is needed?

I still want to see a pic of you measuring the yoke. Your results are not what they should be...

I think, Mod, that I'm just going to send the damned chassis to you again in a week or two...I'd send it now, but I bought a 3DS today, so it's not in the budget.

That's fine, but if the yoke is bad, I won't know that. At least I'll know whether it's a chassis issue or not...

I believe I have stated that is how you test a yoke.

here is a picture showing me measuring the vertical yoke on a 5515 yoke. I did this at the yoke rather than the connector (although I could have done it that way, too) so I could get a good picture for you. BTW - this pic is from a thread I did about repairing a blown yoke...

Oh! Now I see! I didn't realize that was the yoke. I did some reading on this and other forums and...well this is probably my problem. What's it going to cost to fix or replace and where can I get one?

First take a proper reading (with the connector unplugged) and report back...
