new hi mark for star wars d/e 92 one sold for $7500

a 92 d/e star wars sold on ebay a few days ago for 7500, it was huo
but wow is that high or what,? i had a chance to get it around 3500 but i thought that was too high?

Crazy! What proof did they have that it was HUO? (I'm really starting to hate this term in the pinball community!) And it was probably a Star Wars' fan that bought instead of a pinhead...

Hell, I thought 2k was a high for this title a year ago. Pretty hard to find a nice one now for under 2.5k... Damn pinflation!

Star Wars fanatics will buy anything with Darth Vader's mug on it. I have a friend who has a closet full of cereal boxes because they had the SW characters on it.

Same thing with the KISS machine. It's not necessarily an indication of the overall pinball market, just some nerds with extra income.

this pin is gonna be even more sought after once the new gameplay rules are released (thread over on pinside).

but yeah...$7500 is redonkulous.

pin prices in general though are getting out of hand. i only got into the hobby a few years ago, but i've seen outrageous increases in pricing during that time...i can only imagine how insane it seems to the old timers.

huo

it was one of neil falconers games, 12 of his games were sold at a reno auction house, all huo. i was there saw all, bid on most, won none (the star wars went for 2900 there plus about 20% juice, a huo j-park went for 2400.)
it is thought he did what tony scott did some time ago

Yes, that's high...and now that the precedent of retardation has been set, everybody who has one of these machines will attach that value to it.
