Hello. My name is Stephen and I live outside the Sacramento, CA region. I'm a small business IT consultant that grew up in the arcades of the 70s and 80s. I recently was given two cabinets and now I can tinker myself away. The knowledge here is amazing.

Welcome. You're in good company, as there is a decent Sac contingency here.

The best advice you can get here is to search, search, search, any questions you have, before posting a question. A vast majority of all possible arcade repair and restoration-related questions have been asked and discussed at length, and are in the archives here. It's a goldmine of information. The only tricky part is finding it, but the search function here is decent. (Tip: Use the Advanced Search page, in the pulldown above, as it's much better).

That said, don't be afraid to participate in discussions, if you have things to contribute. This is a great community, once you get to know the do's and do not's, so to speak.

The cabinets I got were a Sente SAC1-B with War Final Assault in it, so definitely not original. The monitor is bad, maybe just need caps. Switched the vegas board to VGA and it works but the HDD is clicking like a 20 year old IDE and doesn't boot further than the stick test.

The second cabinet is a MKII cabinet that was converted to Turkey Shooting USA. It works great after tweaking the pots on the monitor a bit. The kids love it. Both cabinets are in great shape, barely any scratches, but covered in wood grain veneer.
