Just wanted to say, for those of you who have not had to chance to deal with member Alejandromad = Alan, you should. He is a great guy and a very good hobbyist..he knows his shit, and is gracious to boot. He picked up a pin for me in the Twin Cities, we met halfway, I was able to get him the Ice Cold Beer parts he needed and sell him a Speed Shift. We were able to shoot the bull for a bit, and I really enjoyed the conversation. He showed me the amazing Atari Skydiver he was dropping off to another collector and it was pretty flippin awesome, but I just wanted to throw out there what a good guy he is, and that I am happy to have met him... hope when Im up in the cities for business, which I hit a few times a year at least, that I can meet up with some more of the MN klovrs as well as he has good things to say about you all... I will be buying Alan's beers...cheers...:) photos included below...they are a little dark..

Alan is a great guy, he sold me a Battlezone cabaret a couple of years ago when I was on my way to Green Bay to pick my Tapper from KLOV member Darth Vader.
I believe he's the first person I've met from the KLOV forum.
I still want to see the picture he took of the cabaret in the backseat of my truck thou.

Was John watching you haul it down the steps all by yourself Keith? ;)

Glad to hear it went to a good home, I love that game, very cool concept, and definitely a sleeper, you know if you ever need space, I drive up and free up that space for you... :D

Never met him but have dealt with him,he seems like a great guy. Was willing to help me out with a deal that didnt go thru(found one localy) also sold him something a while back.

That is a sweet looking skydiver. You don't see those come up for sale too often.

I got to meet allen and his son a couple of weeks ago, they both no there stuff and I got to play his star wars and his black widow and its been over 10 years since I got to play a vector, it was really cool.

This group is sooooo different than the old RGVAC/RGVAM days. It was so discouraging sometimes to drive somewhere to meet up with people for trading or whatever and, oftentimes, they would be borderline scammers... I would drive away feeling sort of 'dirty'. I used to sum it up by saying that everyone's opinion was that "their stuff was 'gold' and my stuff was junk". A lot of the RGVAC people are here on KLOV but thankfully none of the ones I am unfondly remembering from 10-15 years ago.

Anyway... it's ALWAYS a pleasure to meet any of you and it always feels rushed... I always part ways feeling like I should've spent more time. In the last 2 years I have been blessed to meet many of you and our deals have always seemed fair to me... the way they should... like people with a common interest helping one another out. This obsession has actually become FUN again... so THANKS for that.

Jay (zen) is an awesome guy who worked with me to acquire what I needed to restore my very rough and icky ICB. He held onto that Speed Shift EM for me for months, even telling local buyers in Nebraska it was 'sold' (although I hadn't actually paid for it until 2 days before we met up). I have wanted a Speed Shift ever since I saw one up here 12 years ago and I am pumped to get that baby fully restored. Lastly, instead of me coming all the way to Nebraska (which I offered and intended to do) he met me in Ames to do the swap. Thanks so much brother!

Finally, John... here's a picture of your Sky Diver from the Ames, Iowa Quality Inn parking lot... and couple pics of the Speed Shift (thanks again Jay)

Wow, Speed Shift looks like a great find -- should be a challenging and fun restore project!

Epic! Man.... Allen sounds like the kind of guy I would want to do business with. He's right about the camaraderie aspect of this hobby. When you meet up with somebody from here, who shares your enthusiasm, it's a real pleasure. Nice machines/projects too!
