I just rolled out of the local Salvation Army with this:

mspacman001.jpg

I walked in and saw this as well as a "30% off on Wednesday" sign. I asked if the Pac Man was on sale too. The woman replied, "It don't work." I asked again and she responded, "It's as is and yuou can get the discount. So, I looked at the price tag and it's marked $50.00!! I rolled out with it for $35.00, brought it home and tightened the safety switch on the back. Guess what, it works! A few small glitches that a quick internet search fixed. Now, I need to clean it up and decide if I should restore it wirh new graphics or not...

I'm a BMX collector so I know little about arcade games other than I've pushed a few through ebay years ago. By judging the condition of this, minus missing coverlay by the joy stick, it appears to be a solid 5.5 out of 10. I know the side art is painted on but I have no time to properly restore this. So, should I let it be and call it a survivor?

Wow, nice score! You can't beat a $35 WORKING (okay, with a little work) Ms Pac! The art doesn't look too faded either. Get a cpo (pm klov member Wu) and that's a great start to your forthcoming arcade collection... :D So what does a BMX collector collect? BMX bikes? Trophies? Soil samples from various tracks? Oh, and welcome to the crack-like addiction of arcade collecting...

Vintage BMX bikes form this same timeframe, late 70s to mid 80s. Some seriously high end stuff out there. I just parted a complete, early Hutch Pro Racer for $1600.00...

BMX collecting is a horrible addiction... I bought out a complete defunct bike shop for one bicycle once. Sold off the unwanted stuff and made $$ but I only wanted one bike out of 100s of pieces...

BTW, I'm in Annapolis, Maryland.

Side art on left side is worse than right side. I guess more right handed people needed a place to put their left hand than left handed people needed a place to put their right hand. coin counter on this is at 80082 but it came to me on "free play." I guess it made it's money back, huh?

naw man, adding a new overlay is cheap, easy, and a great starter exercise for getting into fixing and cleaning arcade games. I say get one, then call it good.

BMX collector, eh? Cru Jones rules!

This is one of the more entailed games to restore. I wouldn't suggest it for a newbie - hell I don't even want to do one!

Anyway GREAT find congrats. I say if anything new CPO, you enjoy it as is and when you become tired of it sell it. No reason why you can't make $400 profit off of it as is. NOT to a KLOV member - you just screwed yourself ;)

hey captn crunch how much would my old mongoose be worth
its from like 1979
chrome frame
aluminum mag wheels all orginol
red pads
chrome is now a dull grey due to age.

depends on components and condition, gold stem,is is a motomag or supergoose, nickel or chrome finish, forks, do the pads have MONGOOSE written on them, motomag wheels, freewheel or coaster, original components, how's the seat? A good, original example could get you $500.00. Send me pics.

Wow! From what is shown of the side art it looks fantastic. Very little fading/wear which is rare. Im sure that would clean up to look super nice. A new CPO is easy. :)

Nice pickup man. Hard to believe someone dropped off a Ms. Pac at a Salvation Army. But hey, better there than the dump! Slap on a new cpo and just play it...

If you dont end up wanting to keep the mspac, bring it down and trade me something for it. Im just a little bit south from you down by pax river.

WeLcOmE! What a great find! I need to start checking these places out!

several months ago when I went and picked up 3 of my games about 100 miles away, on the way back I stopped at several salvation army type stores looking for a bed frame. I found them, and When I pulled around to the loading doors to load my purchases on the truck, a crowd gathered waiting for me to unload the games. Sorry folks, picking up, not dropping off:rolleyes:

Welcome...but please don't do the above to classic arcade games.

There's not enough $$ in vintage video game part out to warrant me gutting one and they're too hard to find. I'm not a fan of Hutch BMX and when I'm done parting one out there's nothing left to look at to feel guilty about.

Don't worry, for what I have into this I'd sell it whole first.
