That is Northern Virginia's way of contributing another acronym. The ones that have been here a long time are likely southerners but don't call people Yankees.

Been dreaming about building basement arcade for myself and kids for a while and finally bought my first 3 machines this past weekend. They are still in the garage, btw. Was inspired by "John's Arcade" blkdog7 youtube videos and recently took the kids to Crabtowne USA. Their excitement sealed the deal for me.

What I picked up.
Madden Season 2 in really nice shape (afaict). Need to fix one joystick and need some GlobalVR player cards.
Neo-Geo one slot (MV-1FZ) w/ Samurai Showdown III and Super SideKicks III (had to clean contacts to get working). Cabinet is rough but everything works.
Super Sega Hang-On - Cabinet is a bit rough and monitor has burn-in but it works and kids love it.

Plenty of things to fix and clean above. Have Madden 49-way joystick parts on order from suzohapp (their shipping seemed high to me) and a 161-1 neo cart from jammaboards.

Would like to get a 2slot or 4slot SNK NeoGeo cab, refinish the dynamo cab and make it a multi williams or something else. Hope to add some classics and some pinballs down the road too.

About me: odd combination of exJock (now old and out of shape but perpetually trying to get back), Nerd and Football Coach.

advice and comments welcome. Hope I can contribute at some point down the line.

My experience with those multi carts is that they work best if they are the only cart in the system so a single slot neo geo isn't a big deal unless you just want one of the other cabinet types.

For parts I tend to like twisted quarter which is out of Florida but usually get it pretty quick.

Sounds like a pretty good start though. I personally really like my golden neo geo(2 slot 19 inch). I do think one of the guys in Central Va has some multi slot neo geos in need of refinishing if you are interested. If not coin op in Maryland is a good place to check.

ccosby, thanks for the post and advice. I guess I would just prefer to have a true SNK neo geo cabinet. Will check out twisted quarter and coin-op.
