Good Morning everyone, I have been a long time reader of this forum but this is my first post. I have a great offer to buy a golden tee 2005 unit with a non-functional screen (I think this is common), but I would like to know if it is more generally the chassis that goes out on these or the tube. The whole machine boots up fine when powered on so it seems that it is only a malfunctioning screen to me. I apologize that I am unaware of the exact monitor type, nor do I even know if it is the red or green board, but I was hoping there was just a standard type of monitor IT used for these in 2005. If this unit can be fixed without having to spend a load on buying a whole new monitor, could you please direct me to a site with parts as well as a site with a basic chassis replacement guide. Even better if any of you live near columbus and know how to fix these I would be happy to pay for the help. Thank you for all you help and sorry if this is a completely newb question.
Also if it is completely not worth it to buy one of the these units for a few hundred bucks in its present state let me know. Thanks again.

Chassis failures are much more common than tube failures.

There isn't a standard chassis but the most common are Nanao and Wells Gardner. Repair of the chassis is the cheapest option and usually fairly easy. Bob Roberts carries parts in kits to repair most monitor chassis. You can locate him with a search for 'The Real Bob Roberts', I'd post a link but his site is blocked at work.

You can replace the chassis with a generic one, I believe a good source for the replacement chassis would be 8liners.com.

I'd suggest repairing the chassis in the game or sending it out to someone else to repair.

IN looking up the items on Bob Roberts site, it doesn't seem that they have any WG 7500 chassis. Any other good places to get a chassis? I have read that the universal chassis' do not apply to med res monitors. I think I have seen that they only work on standard res ones. Again this is very appreciated and thank you all for your guidance.

My GT has a Neotec sticker on it (the back of the cabinet), and I know Bob has some caps for those. I still need to pull mine to verify though. Not sure if it was ever replaced? Im guessing its a Neo though, cause the flyback is arcing, and I have heard nothing but bad things about those monitors :(

You don't replace the chassis generally, unless it's really, really badly damaged. You repair it. Bob Roberts (and other suppliers) have parts for repairing these.

Also, there's no guarantee that the monitor in that game is a 7500. Monitors get swapped around often, and manufacturers don't necessarily use the same monitor throughout the entire production run. You'll have to take the back off and look for yourself to see what kind of monitor you have.

If you don't want to repair your monitor yourself, you can send the chassis out to someone like Chad at arcadecup.com to have it repaired.

The universal cap kits do apply to med res monitors with very few exceptions. The K7000 cap kit would work for a K7500 but you do need to verify what you have.

It goes without question that I will get the game in home and figure out what kind of monitor I get, I just wanted to make sure that I was spending a few hundred dollars wisely and not getting in too far over my head. You guys have me feeling much better about the purchase and I hope I can get the thing up and running without too many issues. Thanks to all of you again.
