New Gameroom Layout in Google SketchUp

hard to explain. When the 'paint' icon box has been opened up (when you're applying the material) there should be two tabs on the folder that say 'select' and 'edit'. You go into 'edit' and enter in the correct fitted measurements.

Or better yet, once you apply the sideart as a texture, just left click it with the black arrow icon, then right click and go to "texture", then "position". You'll be able to grab and drag the lower right (green?) icon and resize and rotate the texture.

Killer Kades, I have plans to make 4 out of the 6 cabs you speak of. Give me two weeks and they'll slowly start trickling into my skecthup account.

I can rotate and size the side art without issue... but its all tiled... so, for example, as I resize the williams multigame side art to the correct size, there is still a bunch of other images above below to the left and right of it.

How do I just get a SINGLE image rather than a tile of images?

I think i figured it out... make a square the size you want the side art to be then paint the texture in to that square rather than the entire side box.

oh man, that's the worst part. The ONLY way I've found to do it, is:

1. Go into a Paintbrush or other art program
2. Open the image
3. Stretch it's surrounded dead space by atleast half the width of the sideart on all sides.
4. Color in the dead space with a close match of the outer edge of the sideart's paint color.
5. Resave it
6. Reinstall it on the sides and as you install it, it'll have alot more free, clear space around it without showing the next tile's image.
7. Works best when black outer edge paint on black cab.

Trust me it's not fun, takes time, and is totally necessary if you want it to look good. I've basically had to do this in one way or another on almost every cab I've made for either the sides, CP, kick panels, or bezels. It sucks.

I use to be able to pump out a cab in 10-20 minutes. Now my anal perfectionist attitude makes each cab run 30-60 minutes. Just depends on the cab and the art.

A big thanks to JEFFSGAMES for the Stargate cab... I modified it to look a little more like my own...

Now to figure out how to upload it to the site...

Sweet! Hey, I'm going to remake it measured out from my actual cab. It was my first model and I used the jakobud measurements. turns out it doesn't look right lined up with my more accurate Joust cab. I'll make a new one tonight, and make one with your artwork too if you want.

Sure... because if you don't... I will.

:)

Next I need to learn how to make actual cabs instead of just hacking yours.

:D

That's the really fun part. Its always awesome to look at it when you've finally finished an entire cab and it's all looking sweet.

Also, an FYI to all those who need them: I've uploaded a couple more recognizable Street Fighter games. The Alpha one I only made like that with mamemarquee stuff, because that's exactly how it looked in my garage. These ones have their dedicated arts.

You should know my sketchup page by now.

Oh and Frizz, great job for your first.

Are you guys using the free or paid version of SketchUp? I've been fooling around with the free version and this thing is a pain in the ass to navigate and use. Very frustrating. I was somehow able to download one of Gozers models, but just moving the thing appears to be impossible. This is just one of a number of frustrations, though. Just seems really hard to use. I might spend the $250, but not unless it's way easier to use.

I've only ever used the free version. (8) And depending on the machine it's running on, it's smooth as butter. Is the machine you're using quite old or underpowered?
