Well slowly but surely I'm gaining my arcade back, still need more room but hey who doesn't. So I answer an add about a 1980 Sega Monaco GP cockpit, I was the first and the guy was cool enough to wait for me to go get it, while holding others off cause I was first. GREAT GUY!! Anyways the guy got this game when he was 15 years old, his dad new some arcade person that basically passed it on to him back in the day. The cockpit has sat in his parents garage ever since only being played a little by himself and his niece and nephew. It works, has number matching all original except someone added a button to coin it up. Its dusty as hell, not to mention the webs underneath. Now it sits apart in my garage undergoing a true cleaning and maybe some wiring clean up. Well here it is I love its age and that it works..LOL

? 1) If its all working and good should I do anything to it like a cap kit, or even blow it out (inside by the boards and monitor?) VG has me sacred with his "Dear Sega" thread.

? 2) What are the hook like things on the top of the cab? Pix below.

? 3) Does anyone know if there are seats for these somewhere and are parts easy to find?

I'd blow the dust out of it, but if the monitor is working fine, then leave it alone. That's a G07, and if it dies, fixing it is easy. But if the picture is already great, then it hardly matters. Eventually the flyback will probably go, when it does, do a cap kit then.

If it's a G07, do a cap kit AND go ahead and replace the flyback. Might as well and it will likely spew eventually.

This sentence hurts my head. Since when did a cap kit fix a bad flyback?:D
What RetroHacker probably was trying to say was that while in the process of replacing the flyback; Hucklebuck73 could also give the game a cap kit treatement. I don't see anywhere in this thread that RetroHacker stated that a cap kit fixes a bad flyback. Just an observation. By the way nice score Hucklebuck73.

@ RetroHacker, we all understood ya its all good.

@ AG, Glad for ya sir, and no many wives for me...to be honest I actually just got engaged to one...LOL

@ Motoman9, thanks a bunch.

Nice game!
I have the wooden handle on my Monaco GP mini and it was missing the centger badge, too. I reproduced the graphic the best I could based on the original, to give it a finished off look.

I have since printed it out on silver foil label paper to get a closer match to the original foil sticker.
