So yesterday I drove to Ft. Worth to pick up a Pac Man cabaret. Found it on CL for $200. Its not in great shape but it does have a new Ms. Pac board in it that they had just bought at the end of 2009. I found the receipt and they got it from El Darado games. Machine doesnt power on but it looks like the power supply is out.

He states that his brother has a Pitch and Bat from the 60's that has the little men that pop up in the backglass and it all works and has been kept in great shape. He said he would probably sell it for a couple hundred bucks. Seems to me to be a hell of a deal cause most of the ones I see pop up are pretty expensive. Is there any good sites out there to read up on these a little more and see what something like this should bring price wise and to learn more about them.

Here is a generic EM repair guide but it does cover the pitch and bat specific parts. I have seen these machines pull anything from $200 to $1500 depending on machine, condition, and location. I am personally looking for one to add to my collection so I have been watching sales over the past two years.

If there are artwork problems with the machine like flaking backglass or playfield paint these affect the price much more than non-functioning mechanicals (at least as far as collectors purchasing the machine).

It would be but he is not sure his brother wants to sell it yet. Its one of his last games he has in what use to be a huge collection. The guy said he would contact me before he put it on CL to give me first shot at it. He and I sat in his garage for a couple of hours talking all the while he was having a pool party with a ton of people there. He is an old pinball collector who is now out of the hobby.

We have one of these in our shop right now on consignment (the guy wants $3000 btw), and we've fixed a few of them. If the mechanical parts (guys popping up and running bases) works, then get it. Everything else on those things is about the same as an EM pinball...

Yeah this guy and his brother use to collect and shop out EM pinballs. He said they both got real good at doing them and said everything on it works. They were both IBM guys and had a lot of money and a lot of time.
