Hello!

I have been a longtime and occasional lurker, but came out of my virtual shell in search of an auxiliary PCB board for a Battlezone machine that I bought myself for my birthday. That decision worked out well for me and I should be vector gaming by the end of the week!

I love arcade games so, so much. I was a teenager in the 80s and would get up early every Saturday and head down to the arcade where I would spend my time mastering some favorites and being frustrated by other favorites. (Dragon's Lair, I'm talking to you!) I had always dreamed of having an arcade in my house/garage. Now, as a mostly functioning grown-up, that dream is a reality.

I have a Tutankham, a Zaxxon, a Scramble and my newest, a Battlezone, in my garage. I am dying to add a Baby Pacman to the equation next. I'm also making room to add my first pinball. I also want to learn more about repairing games.

Welcome! Great to see another Bay Area guy on here.

Were you able to go to CAX last month? If so, you probably crossed paths with a lot of us locals.

Thanks for the welcomes!

I did make it to CAX, so it's entirely possible that we all crossed paths at some point. I go every year. I'm one of the not-as-plentiful females that show up. This year, I was there for 22 of the 24 hours that they were open. A great deal of that time, I was to be found parked in front of the Baby Pacman machine or one of the three Dragon's Lair machines that were there. I even won the AC/DC pinball translucency thing in the raffle!

welcome. With so many men in this hobby I always find it cool when I hear of a woman who's into it. Or even just in to playing the games for that matter. Actually I can't really understand why there aren't more women who love these classic games. Most of us guys just hope to find a woman who will tolerate them. The idea of finding one who actually enjoys them and has great memories of arcades and these games like most of the members here is pretty cool and not very common.

See, that's what I think! I think you guys are extremely cool for being into this sort of thing. I don't get why more women aren't into it. When I was helping set up on Thursday before CAX, the guy I was helping with his machines said that he had twenty of them. I was amazed. I asked if he was married and he looked at me like I was nuts and said he wasn't. Twenty pinball machines and single?! I would have married him right there! =) That's like the dream!

If only more women thought like you the world would be a better place.

Stop messing with us. We know you're a dude. ;)

I agree. Always great to see a lady who is into the hobby, let alone video games. My wife isn't into video games at all but she's always been supportive and understanding so I can be thankful for that.

I swear, I'm all chick! =)

Having a supportive wife who doesn't play (eg or give a fat rat's ass about video games at all) is absolutely awesome. You've got yourself a keeper!

For sure! She even surprised me with DK repro art on my birthday in 2009 so I could complete my restoration. :)

Welcome to the SB collectors... if you listed to sell any of these titles on CL we probably have noticed your stuff.

Thank you!

I've never listed any of my games for sale on CL. I just buy them. Though I am thinking of selling my Zaxxon. The other three are keepers for me. They give me great pleasure and I have awesome memories of playing them in arcades when I was younger.

Here are some pictures of my stuff. In the one picture, the Gauntlet and the Meta Fox are my cousins. I was just keeping them at my house until Christmas Eve one year so that he could surprise his kids with them. I'd really like to get the Gauntlet from him one of these days. The Battlezone was my birthday present to myself this year and the Scramble was my birthday present to myself last year.
