new/first machine monitor issue horizontal line, lighter section

This is my first machine. The game is street fighter 2. Not sure if its the board or monitor. First some stages had blue patches in areas, after adjusting the monitor knobs, i was able to get it to go away in most stages/levels.

One thig I cant get rid of is a horizontal line/section separation toward the top. It seems the top section is a bit lighter, while the bottom is dark. It is noticeable in every color/s except black.

how do I make is go away. It is quite annoying. is it the adjustment, or monitor issue?

Here are photos with what im talking about :

this photo shows the line/section i cant get rid of, and those blue patches i was talking about

this shows where the line is. it goes all the way across, the top is lighter, rest of screen under it is darker.

another photo with the blue patches, some still show in some levels, adjusted it so it doesnt show as much now. it does look this bad anymore. Also the camera picked up some other lines, disregard those. in person you cant see those, just one on the top i showed in red on the photos above.

I want to get rid of that line, its really annoying. any help would be great! thanks.

Those lines usually mean your SCREEN knob on the monitor flyback is adjusted too high, or bright. Same thing goes for the blue patches you were getting. Adjust the SCREEN knob lower to darken the picture. Then adjust the separate brightness, and/or contrast control to even the image out.

Maybe reading this would help a bit too.

Either that or it looks like you might have some caps on their way out but it looks like you should be able to adjust that out like xarcade states above.

please try and take some pics of the chassis and it will be eayser to determine what the issue is.

Peace

I just got a Super Off-Road with this issue. Long ago I had a chassis rebuilt by Buffett but IIRC it didn't solve this. Now that I have two games with this issue I thought I would bring it up again. Both WGs. Tube related or some other component not typically repaired?

In an attempt to explain it a bit better, there is "line compression" about 2 inches from the top, making colors look very rich and vibrant (like high res). Then closer to the top the lines start spreading apart.
