New Farsight Pinball Machine

This makes me want to donate!!

If we don't reach our goal no credit cards will be charged, but if we raise more then the goal we'll be able to digitize other licensed tables as well (like Star Trek: The Next Generation!)

Tighe your avatar is giving me seizures! I can't even look at your posts its so bad.

I'm conflicted on Far Sight lately.
Loved the xbox 360 williams classics which i picked up for 20 bucks at gamestop.
was amped for the pinball arcade on phones.
bought the first couple sets of tables for both a droid and an iphone. (over 30 bucks)

I have updated to the new tables each month and the demos play horribly when they work. both platforms have been problematic, the droid phone is unplayable now after the latest circus and funhouse update.

so i'm now waiting to see if the xbox 360 version is better next winter. and hopefully cheaper.

they have had way over a million downloads on the appstore alone, and that doesn't count all the other platforms.

what is lame about the TZ is that they aren't specifying what the project costs, how much they'll raise, what they'll actually do with the money, etc etc etc.

i think they need to fix what they have and wait. so i won't be participating in a donation. i'll save that for the local firemans fund.......

have you played the 360 version? it's not perfect, but it's pretty good and very playable.

as for the money, they are asking for $55K for their licensing costs. it's all spelled out on their kickstarter page.

How were they able to do Ripleys Believe It Or Not? That's also a game with a separate media tie-in. I appreciate them doing this (I have it on 360 and iPad), but crying poor seems strange after all they've done.

i don't see it as crying poor at all. i see it as them reaching out to the community...."if you guys want this done, here's what we have to do."

certainly better to go this route than to look at the figures and then trash the project...

at the beginning of the pinball arcade release there was some comment about addam's family and it was the same parallel statements made about unaffordable licensing.
so i presume we'll see the same fundraising for that table in the future.

sounds like they need an IPO or a private investor. maybe Bain Capital will buy them, too.......

or wait until they are confident in the download stream of money coming in and foot the bill proper.

I'm holding out hope on xbox release, not going to try it until winter so my hopes have a greater chance of being met with positives. So far my favorite is the work done by Zen.

The way the guy lays it on about the rarity of machines and his kids never being able to play them (despite saying in the same video they have a full time employee to maintain all their machines) sounds pretty sketchy. Maybe I'm too cynical.

the 360 version will be the same this evening as it will be on christmas eve, other than the tables available. it's solid.

as for their plans for future licensed tables, they stated in their kickstarter announcement that any funds above & beyond the $55K that are pledged will be used for future licensing.

he was giving a sales pitch...it was a little over the top, but I didn't think it was too bad.

and yes......you're a tad bit cynical. ;)

over $10K pledged in the first 6 hours...

that's pretty cool.
Beside my opinion above I'd really like to see this work out.
If the number gets closer to the magic value I'll soften up.

played TZ for the first time at MGC 2012 this year. ended up being the wife and I's favorite just a bit ahead of TOM and RBION. I'd love to spend time playing it on the 360 this winter. :)

So I guess this means they probably have the table gameplay generated inhouse.......

It's a shame you can't get the Xbox 360 version of the table through the Kickstarter. As fun as it is on the iPad, I definitely prefer playing it on the 360.
