I was like is that....Yep...WTF!
It doesn't look like the EL panels are lighting up. If you need help repairing them then check out my tutorial on the Neo forums.

It should answer most of your questions. Some people will try to get you to replace the entire EL system with a flourescent fixture. I wouldn't do it. A machine that nice will look good with the EL marquee system working as intended. Besides, the idea of the individual game's marquee lighting up when selected was such a cool idea...

Thanks, I got your email and I contacted the company with the light kit. Mine partialy light but are very dim. The bulbs are clearly weak. I agree, it would be cool to have intended functionality.

When I got the Neo the marquee was unplugged. I plugged it back in, got a slight glow from some of the lights and then a slight squeal. I quickly redisconnected it. So, it seems it all works, just need new bulbs.
I went into the multi cart thinking I could try a lot of games this way and then buy them for real later.

Yeah, the whole paper providing light thing can mix a person up...
