Replace your Dragon's Lair/Space Ace air filter with a brand new one. These go in the back of the laserdisc drawer. It's possible this could be used in other Cinematronics cabinets as well.

These are listed on ebay (item number:252432438014) or you can purchase one from me directly outside of ebay.

Price is $13 + shipping. Sorry, no international shipping

Thanks.

These are know as bottle cap filters because the mesh was a by product from metal sheet used to make caps. They are Eco-Air10x15x1. New ones have white poly filer and a brown paper frame (the original in my cab where brown filters but they stopped that years ago). They were originally manufactured by Flanders Precisionair (AAF Flanders).
In the USA you used to be able to get them from www.rememberthefilter.com they were Heavy Duty Spun Glass (white) material but that was back in 2010. The website used to have a custom section where you could order the exact size. Think its gone now sadly.
Hope the product info helps.

A bigger issue than the incoming air filter, is the exhaust filter covering the cooling fan.

If you take the cooling fan assembly off of the cabinet, you will find that the fan has been blowing into this fine mesh filter.
The result after 40 years is that the filter is blocked up, completely stopping air flow, and you can't see this until it is removed.

Those filters should be removed and replaced with a simple wire grill.

Completely stupid that they would filter the exhaust outlet!
Have to wonder how many things that design flaw has cooked.

Those fan covers are manufactured by Dayton USA and as of 2025 are still available, its their model 4YD78A. The fan used in the system was a Torin Alpha V A450 model A28678-10 that is rated at 106CFM. But the original call out for the fan states 60CFM. Not sure what happened with that. The original cover I replaced was knocked in and completely obstructed. Not sure why they wanted to protect a fan outlet that was mostly against a wall at the back of a cab. But as i say mine was buckled inwards but obstructed hahaha.
