This is kinda interesting. Picture a music / fashion / good-looking acting celeb snagging the high score for one or more of the most beloved arcade machines. Now picture how that would affect everything.
Would geeky people get a boost because non-geeky celebs (or, at least, celebs not perceived as geeky) were participating? Would celebs lose a bit of their social standing? Would geeks abandon the arcade high-score thing altogether because they no longer "owned" the pasttime?
I really can't tell which way stuff would swing.

As much as I love DK this news doesn't make me like him any more than I did before hearing this....
Being the top moneymaker in the music business last decade (2000-2010), he can probably afford a machine that can be certified to win the title.
