Received these earlier this week...

(the letters... we've had the girl a few years now...) ;)

I'm going to be putting Christmas lights in them and then controlling them with gear that can turn on/off, fade up/down, flash, & twinkle each individual letter.

I'm hoping to have this project done in a week or two but we all know how that works out. I have to give thanks to Capt Future here for giving a hell-of-a deal on these. Thanks! :beerchug:

Now I have to move the extra monitors I've been keeping on top of the Nintendo row to fit these downstairs...

Thanks guys, I still can't believe I actually got these! I'll definitely take a video or two of the setup once it's complete since these are going to be a center piece of the basement. :)

Oh, and fizgig... she's really good at the monkey bars so she said she'll just hang from the ceiling. :D

Cool! You got these from a friend of mine (Captain Future). He was debating for years what to do with those. So cool to see them go to someone who is going to use them.

Enjoy!!

Letters

She looks SUPER happy about those letters!!!
I hope they will be as cool to you guys as I imagined they would be when I got them.
I just couldn't scrap them 4 years back when I had the opportunity to get them.
WAY TOO COOL!

Good to see they will be loved.

Worked on the letters a bit tonight since I'm flyin' solo for a couple days. :beerchug:

Played around with different lights and finally settled on 100ct Christmas lights inside the letters on a wire frame(to hold the shape and them in place). I think I like them best when they are pushed up close to the front of the letter since they almost sparkle. I also played around with the computer controller just to feel like I accomplished *something* tonight(besides :beerchug:ing). :D

Hopefully I'll get "GAMES" done tomorrow and then get them down in the basement.

Thanks guys... I'm working on "GAMES" now. ;)

Zud, the controllers come from Light-O-Rama and they have their own software(paid software unfortunately). I use a "few" of these controllers for my winter hobby of Christmas lights(see here).

There are other controllers that are more DIY and I think there is Freeware software to control them. This is a forum I used to frequent before I decided to go with LOR...

You can get away with a LOR controller and software for ~$250 or ~$150 if you're a DIYer and are comfortable with electricity. ;)

They look cool, Jeff. You're such a light wizard. Good job :)

I'm going to have to pay you to do something really neat in one of the store windows one day.
