had this PAC MAN converted to a SPEED RUMBLER, then i got it and it was all painted red...

discovered a new way to make a NICE control panel overlay and it was cheap, cheap, cheap !

went down to local auto parts store
bought a can of RUBBERIZED UNDERCOAT and hit it a couple times at least
then quickly ran it over with a used roller i had dried out from painting cabinets black
came out NICE and SUPER contoured/tectured
after 24 hours i hit it with some clear, triple thick, like you use on pinball backglasses and my control panel is now glassy perfect with rubber cool undercoat, glass looking, nice. just fine.

think i can get 2/3 rubberized undercoats per can
2/3 clear coats per can

hides all imperfections
nice glassy rubberized look

dont have to use stupid overlays that dont stick 100%

pictures if you want

with this first try, i was going for a smooth surface

on the third pass with the spray can, so much air/undercoat came out of the can that it lifted a 4 inch wet piece of the undercoat and flipped it over

no chance of a smooth surface after that without total removal and a start again

thats when i decided on a continuation of my 1st try and went on spraying till i thought i had a good coat on it

went inside looking for a roller and found the used one
rolled the surface and loved the result
a bit more spray to make the surface somewhat uniform, more rolling and done

the next day the undercoat seemed just a tad "wet"
the next day after that it was dry enough to try a coat of clear

an hour later or so the clear was dry and it looks fantastic

next one i'll try a smooth one again
