So I picked up a Lethal Enforcers Cab in very good shape, the only problem is that the sound is gone. So is this a common problem with a known fix or am I just better off getting a board off of ebay? I was also wondering if anyone know what other boards would work with this cab? It is a mirror reflection cabinet, so I am sure that limits what will work...

Thanks,
Kags

It's a common problem. The surface mounted caps on the custom sound chip go bad. You can fix it if you are decent at soldering. You can see how to fix it here.

It's a common issue. Definitely make sure your board is getting all of the required voltages first.

You can run any shooting game in this cab. You would have to split the yoke harness that plugs into the chassis and flip the vertical part of it. I have a Maximum Force/Area 51 combo board running in me LE2 cab atm.

Cool. Thanks for the info. I am fairly decent with a soldering iron so I will give this a stab, does anyone sell a cap kit for the konami boards?

I also have a area 51 PCB and HD so I will install it in while I play with the Lethal Enforcers board. The LE board has that dedicated stereo plug, will the LE Jamma harness have leads for the mono speaker for the area 51?

It would be really good to have a few different shooter games to swap out for different parties.. maybe carevil, area 51/max force , area 51 site 4 etc...

If it's a dedicated cab then the Jamma harness will not have the speakers hooked up so you wouldn't have any sound until you replace the harness or add the missing pins. I removed two pins from a spare harness I had lying around and added them to the missing harness. I then cut the connector off of the cabinet speakers and spliced these onto the wires from the newly added pins.

I had the same idea. LE is a good game but does get old after a while. Check out my VAPS. I have about 10-12 boards for shooting games. Some of them are doubles and even triples, I like having backups JIC.

The sound fix for these konami boards is not easy. If you search the forums you can find a link to some instructions. I've asked a few repair guys to work on mine and they refuse to try them anymore.
