New Barcade opens in Denver!!!

You should've asked her out, cleverlyj!

That's too bad that Journey is gone; I never had gotten to play one of those machines elsewhere. But it seemed as though it got next to no play, so maybe that's why they took it out (or it broke..). Hopefully I'll be able to hit up 1up on Friday or Saturday night, I just went on a Sunday a month ago and was surprised by how many people were there for a Sunday (although most people were playing the giant Jenga sets rather than the arcade games....).

we're both married. so that wouldn't happen. but if she were to confirm for us last night whether or not there were soccer balls under her shirt, i'd be fine with that. :)

yeah. that was fucking annoying. the crazy loud music on that so loud you couldn't hear gameplay sounds. which is hard as fuck during the red levels on up, as i move and play based on the pulsar noises and if you can't hear them zapping, you don't make it very far.

not to mention the loud crashing noise of a 3-4 foot tall pile of 2x4 pieces falling down every 5 minutes was a wee bit annoying.

Yeah, it was a great vibe there, whoever is doing the hiring over there should be commended, haha. audiomidiman, your marquee looked amazing there in front of the taps. Excellent work, man.

So I went there again last night, and I have to say, this is the best bar in Denver on a Friday night. Screw Suite 200 and their preppy asses. The arcade is not dead, just the clueless manufacturers who failed to keep up with what the market wanted. Most of these games are still relevant.

By the way, played a hot chick in Mortal Kombat for like 10 rounds, and that was fun. But she had a boyfriend, and I told her she was a tease for going in there all dolled up on a Friday night by herself. Gotta put them in their place you know.

Tonight they actually had a line outside. All that did was draw even more people in. Good times. They need to get Gauntlet or a good 4 player co-op game. People would be all about the 6-player X-men there I'm sure.

The owner knows that. He was asking about my Simpsons, but didn't want to make an offer. I told him $500, he just said he would pass.

Pics or it didn't happen :D

They are only relevant because there is booze being served. If that place was just an arcade there would be almost no one in there except nerds like us.

That's a hell of a lot better than the barcade in LA. The last time I was there my hands smelled like vomit after playing the Asteroids.

i dunno. i would personally say out of the times i've been there that the business is about 50% games, 50% alcohol. and 1% burgers with fried donut buns. heh. but really, there are always people on the games. even crowds around the games watching people play when i've been there.
