Well this should be the final draft for Skydive Games, my basement arcade. Wife finally agreed to the layout. Problem is I have no room for my air hockey table. Guess I need to build Skydive North in the garage.

Here is a layout view. I could not find models for all my games and pins, so I did the best I could. Will have to arrange them when the project is complete.

No empty rooms man. One is storage/utlities. The big room to the right is the wife's craft room. The tile area is the bar/game table area. Will use that for card games and board games. :p

I nixed the outside gameroom in that it would be too small for what I needed plus I'd have to go outside in the winter with the wetness etc. :D

Is it just me, or is the game in the upper left corner next to the Double Dragon turned around facing the wall?

Only room for 4 pinball machines?

You have more than that already.

Hyperball I think will be sold.

Plus I can always swap games out, I will have a 320 sqft workshop/storage building in the back yard.

Size of the basement is 25' wide and 45' long. Arcade area including the bar is about 1,000 sqft. I did the best I could to get an accurate CAD drawing of the space. Each square is 1' x 1'. Of course I used Gozer's models for the arcades. Only problem is my CAD program for some reason doesnt like the sketch-up models. Some of the textures do not come over correctly, but you get the idea.

I am not too happy where the pins are. I like the overall look with the aisles made, but would prefer the pins up against a wall. I guess it is always a work in progress. ;)

You should move the cockpits in that area where the Crystal Castles is. You would be able to get a whole row along that wall! Then you can put the air hockey along the wall hiding the stairway.

if that poll wasnt there, Id say turn that game on the end 90 degrees counter clock, so more screens are seen as people walk around the corner for the 1st time.

Not quite understanding that one. Do you mean one on each side of the pole?

I'll have to look into that one. I'd have to move the dart board, but I know another place for that one.

Yeah that's what I was thinking. Move the dartboad to the wall the cockpits are on now. Just give a little room to "miss". you'd have plenty of room by the pole (from how it looks in the drawing)

Builder is coming Saturday for the final estimate. My basement is a mess, but need to start sometime.

Congrats! Just one thing.....

With all those machines down there (and man am I jealous)....Are your basement windows also egress (escape) windows? If not, is there an outside enterance to the space, or the the ONLY way out to go up the stairs?

Trust me when I say I am nto trying to crap on your awesome project, but if something *were* to go wrong and there was an incident, you want to make sure you and your family and guests will be safe.

As a firefighter I think of these things. That is why it was important for me to have another route out when we built the basement.

Have fun witht he space!

Chris

Yup all 3 windows are egress windows. They were required by the village when we built the house 11 years ago. :)
