I think it should be opening in a month or two. Supposedly will have over 100 arcade games -not classics, but new games:

I'd guess this might be the death knell for Japan Arcade. I was there yesterday and the place looked better than it had in a long time. They now have two pins - AFM and a TSPP.

Hope they can make a go of it. Didn't the Lucky Strike or Jillian's close up in LA a few years ago?

Jillians is still there - it's in Universal Citywalk. Lucky Strike is still around but I am not sure how many arcade games are there.

I think this new place should have a good selection of new machines. Very cool location too.

they've been trying to open that place for a long, long time. the location is terrible and I don't think it will succeed. japan arcade isn't worried about it - it's been trying to open for so long, they've known about it forever and welcome the added foot traffic.

I bet over half of the "games" will be ticket/redemption and the rest shitty D&B fare.

It's definitely opening, they have been hiring people in the last couple of weeks to staff it and you can clearly see in the facebook pictures that they are stocking the place with brand new machines. I was just at this mall yesterday and I could see where they were interviewing candidates. It will be popular. Little Tokyo has had a need for this kind of entertainment venue for a long time and I think it will do very well there if it is anything like Round One. I hope there is room for both arcades in this particular mall but time will tell. I can't ever remember a mall with two arcades.

I went inside this place today, as it opened this week.

Nice bowling alleys and bar area, plus food. Arcade game selection leaves something to be desired. Mostly redemption and rip-off Stacker and "put the key through the hole" machines. There are a bunch of driving and shooting games, Superbikes, Terminator Salvation; etc., but nothing very exciting. Round One in Rowland Heights is far superior.

And there was not a single customer in the place...
