NEW New Arcade Coming to Cincinnati 2018: SUPERCADE

*fart*

*burp*

Sorry. Was eating chili for dinner while reading thread.

But seriously, best of luck. Hope it works out. The closest I'll ever get to operating an arcade is having a bunch of games in various locations. That's work enough for me! Still enjoyable though....most of the time. ;)

I finally made it to UP Down in Minneapolis for a party a couple weeks ago. It was packed wall-to-wall. It's a quarter for all games, even the newer pins were a quarter. They make all their money on drinks. It's 21+ I believe, but a majority of people were under 25. A kid came up to me, and asked if I played Moon Patrol when it came out. :|

I really liked the setup, and game selection was great. Atmosphere was way more active than I expected.

can someone go fund me for a vacation and i promise it will be awesome and i will have pizza and booze....

Hear! Hear! I am all in on this idea. I'll even take photos so you can live vicariously through me. A video or two might be in order as well...

For the benefit of the new guy (OP):

The reason you are getting the response you are getting is because you're not the first to have this idea... nor are you the first to announce it here... nor are you the first to attempt to round up some dough for such an endeavor via a crowd-funding website.

The last guy was pretty much a disaster. You can see (in a link above) that he raised a grand total enough to buy a pizza. Yeah.

Most folks here have seen this same story at least a couple other times over the years... and I don't think it's "worked out" for anyone thus far. As was said above... if you don't have enough dough to get up and running plus LOSE money for a year or two, you're setting yourself up for failure from the get-go.

I will say that you seem a little more organized than the last yahoo who tried this route, but still... if you need to crowd-source dough to get going, you're already going down the wrong path IMHO.

Bottom line, you're not the first and the those who came before you failed... a varying degree of fail surely... but failed none-the-less... hence the "luke warm" response.

Good luck. I hope things work out for you... like I said, it's never bad to have more arcades... I just wanted to give you a little insight as to why people here aren't jumping on board whole-heartedly...

there's no coughing in here, everything's just fine ...
