After years of thinking about it, we've finally done it. We're opening an Arcade. We want it to be a great meeting place for all gamers and are very excited about it. If you're in the Cincinnati area or close, or if you just love the idea of another classic arcade coming to the world we would love to have your support! Our Kickstarter link is below and we would truly
be honored if you can join us in building a great place. There are some great reward levels to suit everyone. If we get funded you get some nice stuff and become part of the excitement.
Thanks for your consideration.

I saw this in the news. I'll certainly visit when you open. Good luck with everything!

We will have popcorn, chips, candy, soda and beer. No pizza but there are some nice selections near by. You can bring it in with you and enjoy a slice on one of our cocktail tables.

No pizza= no fun

what kind of chips? can I get Doritos?

I'm not seeing where it says what the kickstarter money is going towards? 20k isn't enough to make a building ADA compliant, least of all turn it into an arcade.

Is this a freeplay arcade or quarters? Is the business going to be a non-profit? How are you going to make money?

Do you have the coin-op license/permit/variance yet?

I see there are multiple barcades in Cincinnati - how far away from them are you? What are you offering that is different from them?

Thanks for asking. We are very proud of the extensive work we have done already.
You're right, 20K is not enough to make an ADA compliant arcade. We have much capital invested into the project already. The space we've selected will need two ADA bathrooms installed and an additional point of egress. Not to mention the proper electrical work and HVAC modification needed to suit our purpose. These are all details in our drawings submitted to the city.

This will be a free play arcade with the exception of the pinballs which will remain coin operated. There will be an admission for entry based on the time you wish to stay. We are clear with zoning and permits on this to date.

There are a couple barcades within about 12-15 minutes drive from our location. They both are nice establishments and fit their particular niche. We wanted a more traditional approach and to allow for the games rather than the bar to be a main focus. In our market studies we found there was a market not being fulfilled and we are seeking to fill that gap. It will be all ages Arcade with snacks and drinks for sale and while not a barcade we plan to serve canned and bottled beer during our evening hours as the clientele shifts to more adult.

The Kickstarter will allow us to put the details and finishing touches on the arcade in a timely manner allowing us to move forward with some very nice planned programming quicker. Like many Kickstarter campaigns for start up businesses it allows for the community to have a chance to become part of something, get some goodies and give us a great chance for exposure.

What lead to the closure of the arcade that you acquired some of your collection from?

The two hour time is just the top level and kind of a suggestion. Not going to be a Nazi if you overstay. It's based on a sussecful model in ours and other markets. Nobody will throw you out on minute 121.
We plan to expand our hours when able but these hours prove to be the most attended for other local businesses. We will also offer reasonable rental rates during the week.

My friend decided to close for personal reasons. His business was very successful and well respected in the city. Also very similar to the model we are following.

We have registered the name with the state of Ohio and it is not a registered trademark. We have a tax ID number and are incorporated. Thank you for the concern and thought however.

Not sure I like the time limit. I'd suggest doing all day and seeing how it goes. You're making the assumption people will be there all day and they may not. All day is good marketing, at least to get off the ground. I think its a mistake to charge for pinball. There's a retro arcade here and they do all day including pinball. I like it. Paying $12 then paying for pinball, then paying for snacks and now you're taking about some money.
