I thought I would introduce myself to start, name is Dan started collecting cabs a fews years back. Cabs I have are Mortal Kombat, Tetris, Super Sprint, Star Wars (sit down) and Ms Pacman (cocktail). Hopefully a Big Buck Hunter within the next week.

I am having some Monitor issues, one game plays dead and another has a bright Horizontal line in the middle rest is black and it flash as it heats up but does not show a picture.

Is it possible to use computer monitors to simply replace the monitor (maybe a little sodering job to the ends or something), I have spare CRT's that are the right sizes?

Oh and I am in Canada.

Thanks

Dan

welcome.

we have some really great people here who can probably help you with your monitor issues. they will need to know what kind of monitor it is though. the model number to look for will probably be on the chassis, not on the tube.

also once you know what make and model of monitors you have you can try searching through the repair and help forum for threads about the same monitor. someone may have already had the same problem with the same monitor in the past.

oh, the bright horizontal line across the monitor is ( i think ) vertical deflection failure. unfortunately I can't tell you how to fix it, I am not one of the really great monitor wizards.

You can't replace the monitors with computer monitors.

The horizontal line is a vertical deflection problem. It's an easy fix; just replace a transistor.

Search Bob Roberts site "Monitor ID page" to find the model of your monitor and someone will help you to troubleshoot it.

And... welcome.

Welcome!!!! You have a nice collection going. Alot of folks here that can help you. Try posting in Technical section. Good luck!!!

Thanks all,

I will look to see if i can tell what model the monitor it is. I do know that I am not getting the orange light on the neck is not on (Mortal Kombat) but plays without the monitor on.

The horizontal line is actually Super Sprint.

Thanks,
Dan
