I've been working on getting one of these since last year... finally, after waiting 5 months for the deal to complete, the game arrived yesterday.

The only things for me to do are to replace the marquee light (bulb is weak) and I think I'll replace the front plexi with tempered glass because there are scratches in the plexi that aren't going to come out.

I'll lose the 'sega seal' which is a bit disappointing but I'd rather not deal with looking through scratches... I'm betting the Sega sticker won't transfer over to the glass although I'll give it a shot.

So for maybe another $25-$30 or so on top of my purchase price I'll have a completely working, restored Star Trek game. Everything is working perfectly including the speech board and the G08 has been bullet-proofed to the extent possible.

Wow am I glad to have this thing at my house. :)

Nice addition there. If you don't mind me asking..why did it take 5 months for the deal to go through?

Nice looking Star Trek! Congratulations!

Glad to see that you finally got one, i know that you have wanted one for awhile. And it loks like your wait paid off, that is one of the nicest ones i have seen, and i have had 10 or so of them myself (so im qualified to say its that nice).

My two cents: add a bonus fan inside the cabinet for the monitor chassis just to help keep it cool. and sadly, buy a fire extinguisher to keep next to it (reccomended for any sega vector owner)

Take care and congrats

Troy (i had krekels yesterday and you didnt)

that looks very nice. if you don't mind me asking, what does one of these usually run?

This is a dedicated one and Exidy's price guide listed it as 400-600 depending on condition. This one is pretty nice after restoration...

Waiting on the restoration to complete... and then waiting on delivery.

You don't often find one for sale with everything working and the only reason this one was in that condition is because I was waiting for the repairs to be completed.

Just a couple of easy minor things now and it'll be 100% -- the only game in my collection of 4 that can make that claim!

Yeah, this has been an exercise in patience... lots of nibbles but nothing solid until this.

I may end up just adding that extra fan... it's already got one for the cabinet itself and another for the board cage...

I know enough about the G08s to never leave them unattended and most of the mods that are circulating to keep the G08s stable have already been done. But I will actually probably go get the fire extinguisher that Level42 recommended just to be on the safe side. :)

Congrats! That does look nice. Sometimes it is worth waiting for the right game to come along.

Nice grab, congrats! A friend of mine used to have one, and that was the only time I ever played the game. I thought it was really cool, loved the speech

Wow. Is that HUO?

No, it just got finished being restored... it just came out pretty nice.

Honestly, the electronics of the game are more important to me than the cabinet appearance but the cab turned out pretty nice too.

It was supposed to come with NOS sideart freshly applied but at the last minute we found out those were NOS stickers for a conversion cab rather than the dedicated variety so we had to go with repro sideart. Major bummer but it at least looks good.

The most exciting part to me was that the speech board works perfectly too because I don't think I'd ever heard one operating correctly. The one I've seen in Houston is pretty beaten up and the speech board didn't work.

Guys, it doesn't save high scores, does it?

congrats demogo..that is an awesome restore.. I didnt realize it had such nice sideart. All the ones I've seen just had the wood vinyl sides only. Looks great next to the greatest game of all time: Spyhunter ;)
