New Addition to Arcade Hades - Thanks to Fireman Jake!!

Some of you may remember that Jake (Hucklebuck) had recently raided an old retro bowling alley and grabbed some of their remaining stock of benches and other odds and ends. I contacted him about one of the benches, convinced him to ship it to me, and he went above and beyond making sure it was broken down, packaged up and shipped out, all within a 2 week span. I got it yesterday morning, cleaned it up, assembled it and for now it will reside in front of my DK Cocktail as an "observation bench" for those that wanna watch the DK players this coming Saturday. This thing reeks retro/googie/atomic age and I've never been happier with an accessory that wasn't an arcade game. It even has the original AMC badges intact, though one of them is cracked. Adds character. Check out the bowling ball holders! LMAOROTFSMOC!!! THANK YOU JAKE. Most guys woulda just blown me off like Fritz at a Sausage Party for the blind, but you did what it took to make a lonely old bowler's dream come true. I owe you a beer and a kiss on the cheek for this one. Behold:

Outstanding Phet, glad all worked out and it looks great.....

Thanks Toby...

Yep, thanks again. man, this thing is awesome. Wonder if I'd ever be able to run across another one, for the other side of the cocktail? Wonder if they came in turquois and white as well? Time to run to ebay and see.

When I first saw them Phet I thought they had the old sparkles in the paint, but no luck. I'm supposed to go back and check for more stuff and also the guy is letting pull up pretty much every inch or so of the black light carpet i can grab. I cant wait to grab other items, the old fellow that ran it says he will have an auction for the base here for whatever is left.

Phet, that is a great bench. Is there a year on that? I am guessing 1972.

PS your rebuild of the Sea Wolf step look incredible.

1972 you say? Cool, that's the year I was born. There are some labels and manufacturer tags on the bottom, I'll look.

That is definitely a custom touch to a game room...I like it...now you just need get a repro of Bill Murray's ball from the movie kingpin and put it in one of those holders..:D

I've actually got a pretty sweet ball that will fit right in. I picked it up at the end of last year. It's my 'Eye of the Beholder" special. I hit more 200 games with it this year than in all other years combined. I looked for a clear resin cast ball with a suspended skull or rose inside, but they didn't have many to choose from, so I went with the Eye.

How does one sit and play that cocktail with the ball holders in that spot?

I hired Fritz to lay on his back underneath them. His instructions were:

"Nibble vigorously on anything that hangs within reach." My guess is that there will be a line for this particular bench by the end of the night.

That looks really cool. The Bowling Alley here was bought and totally stripped. I tried to get a couple things but the guy just pitched everything. Too bad you can't get one of those hand dryers that are in the ball returns.
