New Addition amid the Storm Havoc: Mario Bros widebody
Well, It's surely been a long weekend of no power and no internet.
On Friday, before the storm hit, I was picking 2 new cabinets up from JBK in Fairmont.
Jeff is a lot of fun to deal with, you never know what he is gonna have and he is very reasonable on price.
I saw his Dragon Spirit cabinet in person, all I could say is Wow! It's in great shape.
As I was making the trip anyway, I transported a pin Jeff had bought.
Really glad I put these inside the van instead of a trailer, the storm would have destroyed them!
The first is a Donkey Kong that had been converted to a "Street Heat" (shell only).
A buddy of mine has been asking for me to find one for a while.... so this worked out very well.
This cabinet is overall in good shape, but it's PARTICLE BOARD!!!
I have never seen a Nintendo cabinet made of particle board, but it's still in good shape, so all is well.
I will take the time to convert this back to a Donkey Kong, but it will use a multicade board.
The second is a favorite of mine, not an uncommon machine, but I've been wanting one for a while.
It's a dedicated Nintendo Mario Bros widebody.
Overall, this one is in really great shape, no hacks, reasonably clean, 20EZ is capped and only minor burn.
It does need sideart, CPO has a few nicks, but will likely just leave that alone, High Score kit will be added!!!
Overall the cabinet is decent, it does have a few battle scars, but not bad enough to justify a restore IMO.
I'll let the pictures do the talking.
If anyone has pictures of the base on one of these, post them!! I would like to redo the base on this.
Can't wait to play it, no power till who knows when.....
