New Ace.com version - Exactly how many people are watching an eBay item.

I'm working on a new Ace.com version. Now it shows you how many people are watching on eBay, while filtering out the BuyItNow items:

The most popular item on eBay right now is a doll with 470 watchers...

Pinball is pretty lively...

As our jukeboxes:

As our EM games:

But what about coin-op videogames? Isn't there more to live than megatouch machines and the super chexx ice hockey in the wrong section?

It looks like the action is in the non-coin-op videogame side.. like the 86 watches on an Atari 2600 cartridge already up to $3650 with a day to go.

I have a number of tools I wrote for searching eBay (both public and private), Ace.com being one of them, and you would all be surprised at how many neat things I've found because it showed up on those watchcount lists. Some videogames, but more so earlier machines and just random items.

I first put the watchcount features up a long time ago (previous posts) and at first they worked well, though I had to redo them because sellers started both gaming the system and changing how they sold things. It's amazing what filtering out the BuyItNow items did for the quality of the lists. 99% of the BIN items really are not that exciting.

Ace.com was updated again today.

1) Other countries (ie: France, Germany) now show you the number of watchers too, just like eBay US.

2) German listings, now clicked, taken you to www.ebay.de instead of ebay.com. France listings still go to eBay.com... I'm waiting for eBay to fix something related.

3) The http://www.ace.com/iam report has been cleaned up a little bit. I removed a few 'close to dead' countries, and updated some links (ie: French categories had changed). http://www.ace.com/iam/?CategoryID=92101&region=71&member_id=2002 The action on French eBay is about the pinball machines, etc...

4) various other cleanups

The more people use this tool (different people, not just the same people more), the more data eBay gives us. So, please, tell a friend!
