Okay so I have a b+ potentiometer for my sanyo 14-in. Put it in and it didn't seem to help anything. Anyways I pulled it and tested it and it's giving me readings of about 4K all the way up to nearly 9.8K depending on how I turn it. Is this potentiometer just a lemon? Or could one of these measure like this because the Gap is about 5k. I've tested it several times now and this is what I'm getting.

I will say that I got it from APAR and I've never had any part from them that's been bad. I've also ordered two more just to be safe I guess

A 5k pot is 0-5K or 5K to 0 depending on perspective. It should not do what you say it is doing.
Thanks that's what I was thinking so I must have got a lemon here. But I wanted to be sure just in case something that I didn't know

Probably isn't your issue....but pots(even metal cased ones) can get damaged fairly easy from overheating when installing them....when I install a new pot I make sure to get in/out fast and not overheat the part....just good practice IMO.
