Well I joined the injury club last night. Was wrapping up a piece of cocktail glass for shipment when I dropped the roll of shrinkwrap. Well in my infinite wisdom I did not want it to slam into my kitchen floor, so I went to grab the falling roll. As I went to grab it the roll slammed into my foot and a millisecond later my hand smashed into the top of the roll. After wailing in pain and almost passing out I finally took my sock off to see what I had done. Ripped the top skin right off the big toe and blood, but not bleeding too bad. So I was starting to think it was just a skin abrasion. After about a half hour I told the wife to drive me to the immediate care center. Was a good choice because after 2hrs there I limped out with a broken toe and a broken finger, both on my left side.

I tried to get the xray pics posted but the software they game me with them only allows me to view it. I am off work today so I will play around with it some more.

Ouch. As for grabbing a pic, get Printkey or snag it and you can then grab the pic from the software without having and entire 'print screen'

Good call on that program. Enjoy my misery!

Those rolls can be heavy. Mine is like 40 pounds now but used to be like 50

Tape em to the next one and be done with it you clumsy boy!

Nothing really can be done with those fractures and they'll heal and feel fine in 2 to 6 maybe at the most 8 weeks.

Now compound and dislocated fractures are fun!

most accidents happen at home

tell you, never know when you can get hurt. i hate broken bones. i knew this hobby could be dangerous!! especially some of those heavy cabs. i almost lost a foot with the starwars i decided to move it around while wearing slippers! never again.

Sucks too because I cannot play pinball. I can still play Qbert. So I will practice like crazy for the next few weeks.

Smart move. Fingers and toes heal... your wife would have never let you forget about that dent in the kitchen floor. ;)

I hope you heal well.

I never try to catch anything when it falls and always try to move my feet out of the way.
Just something I learn while working in a machine shop. Fast spinning sharp steel is not something you want to play catch with Laughs.

I dropped an empty firefox cabinet off the back of my pickup onto an 11 year old boy. Sprained his ankle pretty bad. I felt like shit for about 4 months. I get heebie-jeebies just thinking about it. He is much better now and forgives me for it. I don't have him help with anything arcade related that involves moving heavy cabinets.

This is what legends are made of. If you had let it hit the floor it wouldn't be even post worthy. Congrats and may your Qbert score benifit greatly.

Tally so far $1,000+ for 2 xrays and some tape for the toes and fingers. Remind me next time to just grin an bear it and not go see a doctor.
