Hi folks,

I'm replacing the monitor in my millipede. I've done this before on my Tron and a friend's MS. Pacman.

The new monitor I purchased came with a new chassis as well. When I power it up, it shows nothing but green, whether it's plugged into Millipede or not. I've tried adjusting everything possible and it still shows bright green.

This monitor was purchased from Multitech Games. The tube is made by Chunghwa.

Anyone ever see this before? Did I get a defective tube or chassis? Thanks for the help.

interesting. well, fiddle with some knobs first. leave the color ones alone on the neckboard, are you seeing any retrace lines? they'll show up diagonal in the picture. I'd start by turning the Brightness and Contrast to the halfway positions, then turning the Screen down a hair on the flyback. see if the green goes away.

if not, then before messing with the color biases, if you're handy with a soldering iron and a meter, make sure that all the transistors for the color drivers are good. if you don't know what any of that is, let me know.

that's my educated guess upon rising from my bed. results may vary, lol

and it's likely you have a defective chassis or tube, but at least the chassis can be fixed. and welcome!

Thank you. I'm guessing I have a shorted/bad transistor, going to check there first. This is a brand spank-me new chassis and monitor, still vacuuming up the packing peanuts. So if it's a defective chassis...not too happy. I'll post my findings shortly Thanks again.

My first question would be - Does the game play "blind"? (can you hear it running and playing even if you can't see it)

Some monitors with no video signal will show nothing (blank), some will show just a white screen, some will show a solid color like in your case.

If it is playing..... double check you video input connections.

Does it have a remote adjustment board?
If yes, Is it connected properly?

If it is brand new out of the box, call the vender up and raise some pain. If they sold it to you as working and it's not, before you fiddle with it, let them know what it is doing out of the box. They should replace it, but if you mess with it, they would be on their rights to refuse service.
