Last Saturday there was a Mystic Marathon boardset up on eBay. I was going out to the local Houston Arcade Group annual Swap Meet at the Lone Star Pinball Museum (Dan has one of the coolest collections around) and I thought I would just phone in a sniping bid from out there. At the appointed time I whipped out my phone and saw the dreaded "No Network Access" box.
Nooooooooooooo! Another one that got away.....
Later, I walked outside and if I stood right by the road I got just enough network to check and it didn't hit the reserve. So I emailed the seller and made an offer. No reply. A few hours later, I was just hitting the bed when my phone dinged and I almost didn't look to see what it was. It was an email from the seller. He had just relisted the board with a BIN for my offer amount!!?!! So I pushed the buy button, paid for it and the boards arrived tonight.
So the moral of the story, it would have been real easy to just say "ah, f*** it", but a little persistance won out.
