Where there's a will, there's a way... I just have no idea what that way might be. And for the record... I would buy this setup in a second if someone figured out how to make it work.

I would buy an adapter to use even a single NES cart in a PC10. I am surprised that nobody has figured this out. Even if it was just the code to burn to an IC and you had to make your own board.

Not sure if it works with the multicart though.

Nice. I know I've read quite a bit of people trying to make an expansion slot for NES carts but I am not sure how the Powerpak would work because it has to use many different programming methods (I'm not sure of the exact term but I'm referring to like MMC-1, MMC-2, etc). I'm sure it's doable... someone just needs to do it... then send me a free one to test for them.

It's real, It's played every NES cart I've tried on it. That's the second proto design. It turns out it's actually pretty simple to play a NES cart, the difficult part is keeping it from playing when it's not supposed to. This one does that for every cart I've tried, but that doesn't mean there isn't one that won't behave as the design inside the carts can vary widely.

It's been sitting on my workbench for almost 3 years now. The main problem being I haven't found a cheap source for the cart connector, trying it with enough different carts and not having any spare time.

I think I can work around the connector problem by putting a famicom connector on it and having people use adapters.

I have another proto design as well that I haven't gotten around to testing yet.

Even if the PowerPak didnt work, if you extended the adaptor with a ribbon cable, so that the slot for the NES cart was right behind the Coindoor or something, it wouldnt be that hard to swap them out.

DWidel, let me know if you want me to test that with my NES Power Pak for you!

And have you tested that with any Famicom multi-carts?

No I don't have any famicom carts. I'd really be interested in testing one of the famicom carts with the enhanced sound as I think that should work if I use a famicom connector instead of a NES.

I may get back with you for powerpak testing when I get back in a NES mood.

Another idea I had was hi score save, but I think at this point I won't get around to that at all.

Especially since 72-pin connectors are much easier to find by themselves now. They're on eBay right now for $5.

If this works with Vs. cabs as well, that would be cool...

You could probably steal the connectors off the Game Genies that are collecting dust in some old game stores.
