I have 2 questions regarding my 500dx that's currently in a SSB 09.

I'll start by saying this monitor does work. But when powering on it takes a bit to "warm-up"; by a bit I mean anywhere from 1-2 minutes or 10 minutes. In looking at the control board LED during this time, it blinks fast, corresponding with an audible clicking (video 1). After it "warms-up" the light and clicking slow and finally the light is solid and the monitor powers up (video 2). I've read that the clicking can be caused by a shorted HOT but can't imagine that I'd be powering up with that.

My second question might solve my main one, but I'd be interested in checking/adjusting the B+; unfortunately I've yet to come across what it should be set at or test point locations.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks guys!

sounds like caps! you've probably seen it happen on an LCD TV before where it takes a few power cycles or time to turn on.

I have one in a candy cab here with all kinds of geometry issues, so I'm guessing either cheap caps were used in them or they're reaching an age now where they fail.

as it's a digital tri-sync monitor it's going to have a million caps.

Thanks! I had kinda planned on that fairly soon anyways. Cap kit never hurts. Trying to find documentation on the B+ for this has been a chore to say the least. I know it'll def need adjusted after caps!

Any clue about where the b+ should be set at? Maybe a TP to check as well?

unfortunately i don't because i have only worked on the 2515c neotec and those i know but not the 500dx.
