Hi Everyone,

I have 4 of these monitors that won't turn on and just chirp. 1 is a 2701S (Samsung tube) the rest don't have the S but all have the same symptoms. I have been doing lots of reading and it seems as though there are a few version of this board (some have C424 and some don't).

If anyone has a lot of experience with these does a cap kit, flyback replacement and HOT replacement and C423 usually fix these or are there other common problems with them. 3 of mine show physical damage to C423 while the other one doesn't but has the same symptoms.

I am just hoping to buy all the parts I need at once, run through all 4 of them and hopefully have them all up and running by the end of the week so any advice is appreciated.

Thanks

Caps, Flyback and Hot fixed a few for me that were chirping but not always. I did get beat up on one of these a month ago. It turns out I got a bunch of counterfeit HOTs. I ended up having to purchase them directly from Neotec. Please post how you make out regarding your repairs.

Thanks Guys. I have everything listed so I will run through them this weekend and update later.

i need to jump in on this real quick i have 1 sitting on my bench now that fires up then shuts down a second later

found the b+ pot was rusted so stole one from a doa neotech chassis and now i need to adjust the pot

anyone know the b+ test points for the neotech 27inch chassis

i jhave a 25 inch manual but no 27 inch manual

Crap: So I was fairly certain that that the tube I had was from the standard 2701 and the tube I junked due to a broken neck was a Samsung. Well I was wrong. Plugged in the freshly rebuilt 2701 into the Samsung tube. Smoke and a new kind of chirping on it now.

Got an original tube back from a machine I had sold to a friend and plugged in my second rebuilt chassis and it fired up but it has horizontal collapse.

Here are the bad caps I found:
C430
C550
C130
C116
C129
C124

I will have to go through both chassis again and see what I blew up on the first one and what I missed on the second. I will also rebuild my 2701S now that I know I have a tube to test it.

I will keep updating this thread. If I have 4 of these dead than I am sure that there are others out there with the same problems.

Any update? I have one that I did a full cap kit and fly back, and now I have the chirping.

I never finished working on these. Just tucked them away in the corner. Did you change the big poly cap C423? Also make sure you change the bipolar cap on the pincushion board.
